Just came here to make sure the that irony of severe weather occurring in OK the night it’s being reported that Trump’s DOGE is canceling the lease for the NOAA center in Norman, after laying off weather experts at NWS, isn’t lost on anyone

NWS has fired meteorologists as a direct result of upper-level heads telling them to do so. Let me be clear, people will die because of this. Absolutely insane.. I have no words for it. I’ve spent all day I mean all day in meetings with both republicans and democrats fighting.

Bond election projects can take a decade to start if approved. Teens could be in their late 20s when dirt starts turning. So, we're engaging youth as we prioritize projects ( https://t.co/xxk6HYYWUX) and last night, we met with LULAC's OKC Council chapter.

The City of OKC is seeking input from residents as it plans for a general obligation bond election in fall 2025. GO bonds are the City’s most important tool for funding major infrastructure projects, such as building streets, bridges, parks and more. https://t.co/7quPeif3rM

One science educator at today's meeting is worried something similar could happen to them. Creators of the "Franklin Standards" are there. Those standards are criticized, among other reasons, for downplaying any human role in climate change. #oklaed

Countries like France, Germany, Ireland and Belgium have used this type of inclusive deliberation for issues ranging from abortion to climate and cities in North America have focused on topics like access to childcare, placemaking and rethinking how to use public land/facilities.
