None of the moms at my daughter’s cheer party seem interested in my, “So, did you hear David Bailiff got the A&M-Commerce job?” icebreaker.

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer had an owl get into his house last night. “I don’t know if the owl was looking for the snakes (that recently bit his dogs) or what was going on, but it’s actually the story of a coach’s wife. So I’m in game plan meetings last night doing some

My prediction on the @FootballScoop pod that Rice would beat Memphis looks just a bit off.

Despite pitches from Big Ten ADs of a 20+ team CFP, SEC ADs this week in meetings did not consider formats beyond 16 teams, sources tell @YahooSports. SEC/B1G must agree before a new format is adopted. Standoff means 12 teams for 2026 as written last week https://t.co/NGoVbqsWPm

9-3/8-4 sounded like a successful season for OU back in May. In November, after a 5-0 start, a 6-3 mark would be a pitter pill to swallow for Brent Venables. Especially with so many Sooners on the other sideline. https://t.co/hbs2hsMQEI

We are in the beginning stages of an all-timer of a coaching carousel. I mean, just yesterday we had the governor of Louisiana saying he'd rather the President of the Unit

Yes, which is why it was gross, IMO, to see ESPN push its personalities to push this on the public. Your company is the problem here.

Disney has all the chips in this one, right? Either Youtube TV pays up for content, or users switch to.... Disney owned Hulu. Have to believe Youtube caves soon and...eventually passes on cost to customers.

Football is pretty much the last monoculture thing we have. Don't think the masses will complain about "football season" meaning September, October and November.... and December, January and February.

As we in CFB complain about how long the season has become, it's worth noting that the NFL season has gotten longer, too. We're roughly halfway through the NFL regular season and the Super Bowl is still 3+ months away.

That said, ESPN has all the leverage and no incentive to buckle here. Disney is a client and competitor to Google. Long story short, the consumer loses either way here.

I guess UTSA is wearing its Spurs alts? If they’re going to break out alternates that aren’t school colors, they should be Fiesta colors.

The idea that streaming is the way to reach younger fans remains the most stubborn myth in sports media NBA games on broadcast are beating games on streaming by 79% among 18-34s But because broadcast beats streaming by 371% among 55+ the median age mirage persists

NBA starts rights deal with most-watched traditional Opening Week since 2017. (2020 Opening Week included Christmas games) Like its debuts on NFL and NASCAR, Prime Video's NBA debut is smaller -- but younger-skewing -- draw than the other networks:

Man, these guys had the extension news last night. Clearly someone told them this AM they needed to retract. That's just not right.

New information indicates an extension was not signed at the time of publishing, making the attached story inaccurate. As of right now, no extension has been signed between Matt Rhule and Nebraska.

There were questions about whether Matt Rhule was even right for Penn State, or whether Penn State was right for Rhule. Regardless, the opening and connections between the two generated an extension for Rhule at Nebraska. https://t.co/XQcxkKsImu
