We observed that EXT1 upregulation correlates with aggressive tumor subtypes, and its ectopic expression significantly promotes cell migration, invasion, tumor formation, and #STAT3 signaling. Conversely, EXT1 knockout in cancer cell lines impaired the EMT-associated traits.

Here, we demonstrate the critical role of #EXT1, a central enzyme in the #heparan sulfate proteoglycan (#HSPG) biosynthesis, in the #EMT program.
