This is the most Israeli thing I’ve seen. Taken at the Weizmann Institute of Science, following the Iranian attack.

It was really cool to see that repair efficiency is a stronger influence than damage-sensitivity on the final mutational profile. But still: It's best not to smoke!

Our latest paper is out in @NatureEcoEvo: Inferring DNA methylation in non-skeletal tissues of ancient specimens. A major challenge in studying DNA methylation in ancient samples is that it is tissue-specific. 1/11

Thrilled to share our latest article in Trends in Genetics! Ever wondered why RNA processing factors are recruited to DNA DSBs? We propose two explanations that shed novel insights into the functional significance of RNA processing factors at DSB sites. https://t.co/smyTmGdm3z

KDAC inhibition increases chromatin accessibility – but this isn’t why theres more DNA damage... Also: despite the increased accessibility, nucleotide excision repair is repressed. Always fun to get results you didn’t expect!

The drug creates more DNA damage and kills cancer cells more efficiently than cisplatin. It extended survival in a mouse cancer model, and cells did not develop resistance after long-term exposure.

New preprint! A fun collaboration lead by Yaara Negev Korem, with Ron Kohen and Dan Gibson from @PharmacyHUJI and Ori Wald from @Hadassah_Med ! We synthesized a novel cisplatin-based prodrug, in which cisplatin is fused to two KDAC inhibitors. Check it out: @IMRIC_HUJ @Hujimed
