Happy to share our latest findings on the new roles of Ryk in astrocytes after traumatic spinal cord injury! Wnt/Ryk signaling not only inhibits axon growth but also responses of astrocytes and other cell types in scarring and wound healing. Congratulations to all authors !!!.
With no approved therapies for spinal cord injuries, scientists are looking into the body’s healing mechanisms for clues on recovery. Researchers found that the RYK gene inhibits wound healing, offering hope for new treatments after spinal cord injury.
