How fitting that the Preview of our Neuron paper was written by the one and only Roy Sillitoe @SillitoeLab. I saw him giving a talk at the 2018 Neural Development GRC, and his incredible data, storytelling, and enthusiasm convinced me to use Purkinje Cells as a model system.

My favorite part is finding cell type-specific post-transcriptional mechanisms that drive morphological diversification among neurons. For example, strong repression in Purkinje cells of genes expressed also in pyramidal neurons is necessary for exuberant arborization! 🤯.

Delighted to see our paper finally out in @NeuroCellPress! Together with Ian MacRae, we developed a new toolbox to study microRNAs and used it to find new mechanisms of Purkinje cell development. Please see the tweetorial from researcher extraordinaire @norjin_z for details.
