Raine is one of those quiet, behind-the-scenes people most will never know by name - yet we all benefit from her work. For years she’s poured herself into the Assange and McBride campaigns without ever seeking the spotlight or applause. She just does the work because it’s right.

Lismore🧶👵 have hung Australia’s Environment Minister @MurrayWatt out to dry in frustration at his governments shonky environmental law reforms “We know he’ll stay wet, it’s always damp here - #ClimateChange ! but exposing him to the elements brings some relief” said 👵 Rosie.

It's now November and Australia's whistleblower laws are still broken. They fail to protect public servants like #DavidMcBride, even & especially when the government can hide their crimes behind a shroud of 'National Security' secrecy. #PardonDavidMcBride @MurdochCadell #auspol
3 years ago today I caught up with David McBride in Parliament to discuss his case - he still thought the system might be fair. Today he is still in prison in Canberra and whistleblower laws are still broken. A stain on this country.

It was gr8 2 catch up with these legends @ 2025 Whistleblowers Australia Anual Conf. Yes we spoke about the failures of the Govt to protect whistleblowers and not the perpetrators, as they do. I guess political donations from corps and companies, trump truth tellers! #freeMcbride

‘Defence inspector inadvertently omitted 10 consultations held with NACC chief Paul Brereton’ Trust is inadvertently omitted. This is why Freedom of Information access is so critically important in a democracy. Without it, much inadvertence.

So now Australia will be making F35 fighter jet parts for Saudi Arabia. A country that Amnesty says ignores people’s basic human rights, restricts their freedoms and inflicts severe punishment. The regime also kills dissenters. No one even asked us.

AGAIN we find out that Commissioner Major General Brereton had been involved in undisclosed conflicts of interest. What’s it going to take for the Albanese Government to finally realise his position is untenable??

@worldzonfire It stands for doing nothing that will jeopardise Albanese's chance at getting a 3rd term, so he can retire saying he equalled Bob Hawke's record. And you think I'm joking.

@worldzonfire Labor won’t challenge the big end of town, because what Labor now stands for IS the big end of town.

@worldzonfire @SenatorThorpe What’s that saying “innocent until proven guilty” seems labor want the police to be judge and jury. Is it an Australian thing to punish people on Centrelink payments. Remember Robodebt and the lost lives due to suicide. Labor now following in Morrisons footsteps.

#Breaking: The ABC can reveal Paul Brereton's advice on defence matters has been sought by the Inspector-General of the ADF (IGADF), James Gaynor, on 21 occasions, rather than the eleven originally disclosed to parliament. https://t.co/DcdPwJqbbx

Labor has positioned itself as a defender of the status quo, a move that resonated with many Australians in the recent election. Historically, however, Labour's mission has been to drive change for those in need.
If you read nothing else today - read Sean Kelly’s THE GOOD FIGHT: WHAT DOES LABOR STAND FOR? in the Quarterly Essay. Sean says exactly what we have all been feeling but struggling to articulate WTF do Labor stand for? Labor is a party more focused on protecting its own power

@worldzonfire Been saying this for ages…. More importantly WHO do they stand for. Becoming increasingly clear that they’re little more than a power club giving jobs to club members

@worldzonfire Political parties these days, once they get into power, are only interested in one thing - hanging on to that power for as long as possible. “The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution”: Hannah Arendt.

@worldzonfire When Turnbull became PM, after all the hype about him being a better breed of Liberal, it soon became clear that he was just there to maintain the status quo. That's all Mr "Left Wing" Albanese does now. The billionaires just want to keep things as they are, they have it so good.

Labor seems impatient with the whole ‘courts decide guilt’ thing - now they want the power to punish people before a judge even enters the chat. This is executive overreach dressed up as social policy #auspol @SenatorThorpe
Labor is trying to sneak through laws to give police and ministers power to cancel Centrelink payments for people who have a warrant against them. Punishing people before they stand trial is fundamentally wrong. We cannot let Labor get away with this. https://t.co/NBD7A0kT5B
