We all need to guard against enjoying rage. It's seductive, especially righteous rage. But it is addictive, and it blinds us.

Let us forcefully reaffirm today that the seeds of anti-Semitism must never again be allowed to take root in the human heart. Remembering the suffering and tears of the victims of the Holocaust, let us repeat: never again!

What’s embarrassing is your lack of familiarity with our Constitution and the role of the Senate in this process.

You really should get out more often. Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Finland, Sweden and several others are all increasing spending and readiness. And more than half of what’s spent to help Ukraine comes from Europe.

@general_ben This is Europe’s fight, but they are mostly too weak to stand up to Putin. I’ve yet to see any nation, other than beautiful Poland, do anything to significantly rearm or prepare for war. The rest are just hoping we will bail them out so they don’t have to slash their welfare €.

That is a very polite, diplomatic response. But I will say: The sneering contempt that MAGA has for the Ukrainian people, as they try to save their country from annihilation and subjugation, is one of the most revolting phenomena of our age.

Hi @joerogan, freaking at Ukrainians without giving them a chance to speak isn’t a fair fight. If you ever feel like having a real conversation, let’s sit down and chat about anything Ukraine-related – dragons included. You know your stuff, I know mine. Cigars on me.

NATO a relic? Dear Mr HEGSETH, did you ever wonder why every nation which was once under Russian control or threat rushed to join NATO at the first opportunity and why others are in a queue.

I have increasing doubts that Hegseth will be confirmed. But: "The defense of Europe is not our problem; been there, done that, twice," Hegseth writes, adding: "Nato is a relic and should be scrapped and remade in order for freedom to be truly defended." https://t.co/7iIZKpCPRI

A point taught to me by the historian Shaw Livermore Jr.: "People say, 'You need to study the past in order to understand the present.' It's at least as true that the present helps us understand the past." The contempt that so many have for the Ukrainians is a sad, dark lesson.

If you, as you were reading history books, tried really hard to understand how exactly so many people could be so blindly supportive toward Stalin/Hitler/Pol Pot/Mao/etc -- well, here's how: Look at the people blindly spitting at Ukrainians and telling them to go fuck themselves

People have told me that I'm putting myself in "harm's way" by speaking out against the impending Trump Administration. That, in and of itself, is the CLEAREST SIGN OF FASCISM there is. When citizens can't speak out against their government, that's FASCISM. Just like RUSSIA.
