- Reykjanes eruption continues at a lower intensity from confined craters - Magma source interpreted to be from Svartsengi where it's been accumulating since 2020 - Lava area estimated 3.7 km2 and hasn't grown much since the first night of the eruption 🧵

Compared with avaiable published and unpublished data, the ongoing 2023 eruption has very similar MgO and TiO2 content to that of historical and prehistorical eruptions in Svartsengi, but the K2O/TiO2 is comparable to late erupted lavas during the 2021-23 Fagradalsfjall eruptions
