I wonder how America is doing in the parallel reality where we don't demolish our cities

We could replace the Central Freeway stub with something like this and meet our housing goals while stitching neighborhoods back together. @DanielLurie / @vision_blvd.

City streets should be like this: -Transit in the center -Bus lanes -Bike lanes -Lined with trees (Very important) Never too late to fix them.

Mood: You wasted millions of dollars trying to influence an election and then find yourself under the Central Freeway. It’s sad, it’s dark, it’s cold, it’s loud, it smells weird, the ketamine has worn off

It’s a “Battle of the Blight” between SF’s Central Freeway and NYC’s West Side Highway. Which one will be torn down first? đŸ€”

MISSONACTIVITES: What a mess—a driver, possibly under the influence, hit a car on the 101, fled, got chased, hit another car on Doboce and Mission, crashed, and even took out a streetlight.

Even if you don't think it's racist (which it very much is) How do you not look at removing this as a massive improvement for a Rust Belt city?

Vision Blvd is here to stay until the Central Freeway (aka “The Stub”) is removed once and for all. Since the dawn of this community effort, we have worked to secure support from various neighborhood associations, merchant associations, community benefit districts, nonprofits,

Shoutout to the gorgeous grassy tram in the Garden District of New Orleans đŸ„° Hmm
come to think of it, San Francisco could benefit from a grassy tram on a certain corridor
 can’t remember which one exactly

Center-running electric trams running on grassy tracks in America? This is the kind of sustainable transportation innovation that can only be constructed in the futuristic world of [checks note] 1893.

This is big news. The vision of stitching back neighborhoods that were divided by an outdated freeway is growing.
