I looked into devbox from @jetify_com for a brief moment, but then realised I didn’t want to get into the abstractions wormhole yet since devenv is closer to classic nix and devbox just adds some magic on top that becomes trickier to debug (for me).

I’ve been keeping a local branch that I rebase on top of the upstream/main whenever updates are available in but that is a clunky DX.

What is the current best-practice in using devenv on different projects? Asking because not every project is keen on a PR to add devenv (some authors consider it a new devtool w/ new complexity) but I need files tracked in to git for devenv to work iirc. @domenkozar @cachix_org
