"There are a lot of people who will support quietly, but are fearful about supporting publicly because they fear retaliation," ⁦@JessforDelaware⁩ said. "I think that's a culture we really need to be working to change in this state....ā€

Coronavirus has hindered in-person campaigning while also highlighting many of the political issues that progressive challengers want to change.

Paying 18 cents more a gallon might be a drop in the bucket for someone as absurdly wealthy as Dr. Oz. But for a single mother with two kids making a shitty minimum wage of $7.25/hr, it *really* matters.

I've met people who were trapped in jail because they couldn't afford $150 for bail. They couldn't even tell people on the outside where they were because they didn't have money to pay for the phones. Many, many people across the country are incarcerated because they are poor.

After 20 years teaching in a Northern Virginia jail, I've come to the conclusion that most people incarcerated are there because they are poor.

NBC News: The gunman in Uvalde, TX wore body armor during the attack and initial officers were unable to bring down the shooter and had to wait for tactical teams in order to finally stop the gunman, per Texas DPS to @BreakingChesky at the scene.

When we talk about oligarchy in America we are talking about 700 billionaires who became nearly $2 trillion richer during the pandemic & pay a lower tax rate than a nurse while the child poverty rate soared by 41% in January because the expanded Child Tax Credit ended.

With inspiration from its sister union in Milwaukee, the Madison teachers’ union recentered its mission to focus on social and racial justice, and to highlight that it had a responsibility to uphold an accessible, equitable, and public education system.

From the pandemic, to feeling unsafe in our streets, to an unequal education system, too many in our community are suffering. It’s complacent politicians who represent the status quo that are the biggest obstacles to change. Sending them back to Washington is no longer an option.

Student debt cancellation is personal - I’m counting on student debt cancellation so I can maintain a home, start to family plan, & not limit my food intake or groceries. It feels extra personal when @RepDwightEvans accepts contributions from my own student loan provider.

If you’re pro labor, a for-profit healthcare system is contradictory to workers’ rights. It stretches healthcare workers past their breaking point in order to squeeze out every nickel and dime of caring for patients. And we wonder why our current healthcare system is collapsing.

ICYMI: I've been a stripper. I'm a sexual assault survivor. And I've had an abortion. This ad is my story — but also the story of so many others. Never again will they be able to force us to live in the shadows, in shame for our lived experiences.

If you have long covid I seriously recommend learning how to do a poor man’s tilt table test. POTS, which many long haulers are already getting diagnosed with, has an on average four year diagnostic delay. But if you know what you’re looking for, it takes 15 minutes to diagnose.

#LaborDay is, sadly, a long weekend for mostly the professional class in America. It's a tragedy. When do service workers, essential workers, the folks that actually keep America running actually get a fair shake? #fightfor15
