We have spent billions of dollars on research for gene therapies for cancer.
Yet, 90-95% of cancer cases are rooted in lifestyle and environmental factors.
And we now have a pool of studies supporting cancer's metabolic origin.
It seems we need to rethink our funding.
The connection between ultra-processed foods and cancer is clear, so let's not sit on this research for the next 30 years.
Let's do something about it.

I am absolutely appalled.
I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to health and nutritional information,
But when dieticians are promoting General Mills cereals to us teenagers and saying that food freedom means eating whatever you want whenever you want…
Until we treat ultra-processed foods/refined sugars the same as cigarettes,
it will be difficult for people to truly understand the deeply devastating effects.
Honey nut cheerios is one of the top cereals in the U.S.
Here’s what you’re eating:
- canola oil (a seed oil)
- dried corn syrup
- preservatives
- 12.8 grams of sugar per cup
That's more sugar than 3 Chips Ahoy cookies!
I think it’s safe to say this is not an ideal breakfast.
Hey
@McDonalds
,
When you switched to cooking your fries in vegetable oils instead of beef tallow because it was "healthier",
Did you consider that these french fries cooked in reheated oils produce carcinogens (PAHs) and the same amount of acrolein (big toxin) as 25 cigarettes?…
Just read a super interesting study...
The aldehyde content of one large french fries made in cooking oil (often seed oils) is the equivalent of smoking 25 tobacco cigarettes.
Is this something we want to be happily handing to our kids?
Women with higher vitamin D levels had 80% less risk of developing cancer than those with low vitamin D levels.
Considering that 1 billion people worldwide are deficient in vitamin D, I think that it's safe to say we could deeply benefit from some more sun.
What I wish I got out of my doctor's visit:
- Too much sugar is harmful
- Avoid ultra-processed foods
- Seed oils aren't great
- Prioritize sleep
What I end up getting:
- Eat a "balanced diet"
- Try to be active
We have to take ownership of our health & actively learn more.
So you’re telling me, the AHA who actively promotes seed oils (toxic and inflammatory),
Was funded by Proctor and Gamble, the first company to invent seed oils...
And that when Proctor and Gamble made cottonseed oil, its initial intended use was for soap, not cooking???🧐
The people who thought that cigarettes cause cancer weren’t wrong,
it’s just 21st century cigarettes- the average American diet.
Just as we rallied against the dangers of smoking, it’s time to wage a war on the ultra-processed foods that have silently infiltrated our diets.

If I told you that someone was selling your child addicting poison,
You would instantly put a stop to it.
Yet if I told you the food and beverage spend 2 billion on advertising mainly junk food to your kid, life would go on as is.
Why is the latter any different?
It's no mystery why colon cancer incidence has had greater increase in people under the age of 50 than elderly people.

It’s not in your genes,

And you can be sure that this idea will remain hidden as long as America’s most highly esteemed health organizations are accepting funds from food companies, such as Kellogg's and Coke.

Hey James Quincey,
As the CEO of
@cocacola

Or is your preference that only other people's kids be exposed to high fructose corn syrup, which has harmful effects on the liver mirroring alcohol consumption?

- Are addicted to sugar
But when you start eating healthy, they tell you:

Why?
After interviewing a lovely group of elderly people about their thoughts on cancer, one thing stood out to me.

#1
environmental cause of cancer was, they would answer smoking.
They would retell stories of loved ones they had lost due to lung…
Am I the only one who thinks that it's morally corrupt that the American Cancer Society accepted a $1.9 mil donation from Coca-Cola,
when the overconsumption of sugar (in drinks like Coke) leads to obesity, which is a large risk factor for developing cancer?
We live in a society where we don't even try to stop the craving anymore,
We just try to decide which one to give in to...
It's time to realize that our "cravings" are serious addictions that can lead to a life full of chronic diseases, like cancer.
