Fantastic to welcome
@Keir_Starmer
to Lancing this morning where he set out the choice at this election:
⚫️service or self-interest
⚫️stability or chaos
⚫️a Labour Party that has changed or a Tory Party that has run away from the mainstream
Thank you so much to
@LabourEWS
members for selecting me as your candidate for the next general election.
Together we’ll run a campaign that elects the first ever Labour MP here in East Worthing and Shoreham.
It’s time for change!
Thrilled to have been selected to be one of
@LambethLabour
’s candidates for Streatham Common and Vale next May.
Looking forward to getting out on the campaign trail and doing my best for our bit of Streatham🌹
Congratulations to
@EmmaEReynolds
who will be a fantastic candidate and then MP for
@WycombeLabour
.
It’s been a pleasure to run in the same race as someone so talented and kind.
Looking forward to seeing her turn Wycombe red at the next election.
I’m running to be East Worthing and Shoreham’s first ever Labour MP.🌹
The Tories have broken everything. Housing costs soaring, NHS waiting times out of control, and sewage being pumped into our rivers and seas.
We deserve better. I’ll make sure we get it.
💥The general election has just been called...💥
It's finally time to get our future back here in East Worthing and Shoreham and across the country by voting for Labour on 4 July!🌹
"When I was younger I thought that I was never going to be anything or achieve anything because of who I was. To be an Olympic Champion now just shows that you can achieve anything." 🥇🌈💯
What a champ and brilliant role model for young LGBT people
@TomDaley1994
is!
“I feel incredibly proud to say I am a gay man and also an Olympic champion.”
Gold medal winner Tom Daley says he hopes his performance will inspire young LGBT people to realise “you can achieve anything”.

Nomination confirmed ✅
Now officially your
@UKLabour
candidate for East Worthing and Shoreham 🫡
Vote for change on 4 July - vote Labour 🌹
Very grateful to be supported by
@LGBTLabour
and the Chris Smith list.
It wasn’t always easy growing up gay, and we still see too much discrimination and hate crime despite the progress we’ve made.
Labour will build on our record as the party of equality.
I have a great deal of respect for public service and 27 years is a long innings.
Politics can be ugly, so I am grateful to Tim for always being courteous and decent to me, including at Shoreham Farmers’ Market just this morning.
I wish him and Liza all the best for the future.
Last night I informed the AGM of the East Worthing & Shoreham Conservative Association that I would not be standing as the Conservative candidate at the next General Election. This is my letter to the Association Chairman.
Over and out from
@LGBTLabour
National Committee. 🏳️🌈
Proud to leave the organisation with a big fighting fund for the next general election. 🌹
A huge thank you to the generosity of our members and supporters for helping us get there.
Raising a glass on a much needed holiday to a spectacular set of results this week.
Wish I could have a chat with my late grandad - who stood as a hopeless paper Labour candidate decades ago in Aldershot - about Rushmoor turning red.
From Adur to Aldershot, change is coming! 🌹
A huge thank you to
@peterkyle
for officially launching our campaign to win East Worthing and Shoreham on Saturday.
Wet and windy weather didn't stop us speaking to hundreds of voters - with so many of them excited about Labour's plan to give Britain its future back.
It’s my birthday! 🎈
The only present I’m after this year is a Labour government. 🌹
I’m campaigning for it every day of the week, but to run a winning campaign we need money!
Can you chip in to help us sustain the flying start we’ve gotten off to? 💷
Delighted to have been shortlisted to be
@WycombeLabour
's candidate at the next general election.
I'll be speaking with members in the days ahead about my plan to beat Steve Baker - and then deliver for Wycombe.
If you can help me out, please get in touch!
It was absolutely freezing out on the doorstep in Lancing this weekend, but we spoke with many lifelong Conservative voters keen to vote Labour for the first time ever!
I’m standing to be Treasurer of
@LGBTLabour
! It’s been a tough year without our Prides; with no chances to meet up and celebrate our incredible LGBT+ community. I’ll keep us fighting fit for the battles ahead.
The Tories have given up on East Worthing and Shoreham. They even called an election with no candidate here.
@tomrutland
is ready to serve and bring about the change we need.
Labour has a track record of delivering for Streatham and for Lambeth, despite 12 years of Tory govt cuts. ✅
On Thursday 5 May, please cast all three of your votes for your Labour and Co-operative candidates in Streatham Common and Vale so we can keep up that work! 🗳🌹
Another great day talking to voters across Worthing and Lancing - spot the picture where we got cheers of support from a passing van!
A lot of enthusiasm for the change Labour is ready to bring - from lifelong Labour voters and from (formerly) lifelong Conservative voters!
Really pleased to be longlisted to be Labour's candidate for Wycombe at the next election.
I'm looking forward to speaking with more members in the weeks ahead.
Please do get in touch with me if you'd like to help out with the campaign - it's always a team effort!
Fully operational ventilators from the Holby City set arrived at the new Nightingale Hospital yesterday.
@BBCCasualty
&
@BBCHolbyCity
Exec Producer Simon Harper said: "We are only too happy to help out and do what we can for the courageous and selfless real life medics."
Brilliant to have
@SteveReedMP
join us on the campaign trail in Findon Valley this afternoon.
Lots of good conversations with voters on the edge of the South Downs about Labour’s plans for nature recovery and stopping the sewage scandal.
Change comes when you vote for it.
@Jeremy4StMarys
will be fantastic as the first ever leader of a Labour majority council in Adur.
I’m so excited to see our fantastic candidates - now councillors! - get to work for the community.
A massive thank you to the campaigning force that is
@LabourStudents
for coming out to campaign with me today!
Love seeing the next generation of activists putting their all into electing a Labour government.
Thank you for all the well wishes!
We were out speaking with residents this morning in Lancing to get things off to a flying start - sign up to help us do it ⬇️
Starting the week full of hope and with light at the end of the Covid-19 tunnel after completing my
@stjohnambulance
vaccination volunteer training yesterday with some incredible people. Looking forward to doing my bit here in Lambeth and across London.
Fantastic to have so many people turn out last night for our presentation on how we win the general election - no matter when it comes.
Many people came to their very first meeting and are determined to play their part in delivering the first Labour government in a generation.
On Thursday, we have the chance to elect a new Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex.
I'll be supporting the brilliant Paul Richards, who I recently welcomed to Shoreham alongside
@Jeremy4StMarys
.
Thousands of leaflets delivered and hundreds of voters spoken with across Adur this gloriously sunny Easter weekend.
Lots of people desperate for a general election so that they can vote Labour and get Britain’s future back!
Earlier this week I was delighted to welcome Labour's Shadow Environment Secretary
@SteveReedMP
to Southwick, where we met with local residents to discuss the sewage polluting the River Adur and our beautiful coastline, and the recent flooding in Shoreham.
Uplifting day vaccinating people from across London with
@stjohnambulance
! Great to see the joy and excitement on everyone’s faces after such a difficult year.
#GetVaccinated
Delighted to have the support of
@CommunityUnion
to be Labour's candidate in East Worthing and Shoreham.
It's been great working with them on policies to deliver a new deal for freelance and self-employed workers.
I'm proud to work for a union, fighting for workers every day.
I'm very grateful to local
@CoopParty
members for endorsing me to be
@LabourEWS
's candidate at the next general election.
Our values will be key to sharing power and wealth across our communities after 13 years of Conservative government that has hoarded it for the few.
Wonderful day on Shoreham Beach campaigning with friends!
And an early morning pit stop at the market for
#LabSmallBizSat
fuelling up on Janet’s incredible cakes.
26 days to go!
Inspiring to be alongside so many workers fighting for a better future at today’s TUC march - and to bump into friends from
@WycombeLabour
!
#WeDemandBetter
Incredible effort from our teams out today - very glad to have the opportunity to speak to voters who’ve supported the Conservatives and the Greens in the past but will be voting for change with Labour on July 4.
And a lovely breakfast at the Perch with family today 😁
Happy New Year!
Through hard work, we’ll make 2024 a year of change - one where the page is turned on 14 years of decline overseen by the Conservatives.
Let’s get Britain’s future back!
Come join one of our January campaigning sessions.
Clean power will tackle climate change. I’m proud to have worked for a union representing workers at the Rampion wind farm.
Great British Energy will turn the page on the cost of living crisis and drive down energy bills.
That's the choice on Thursday 4 July.
Vote Labour.
Lovely morning chatting with residents at Shoreham Farmers’ Market and buying some coffee and cakes for Mother’s Day tomorrow!
Good to catch up with the brilliant volunteers at Shoreham and Adur Community Foodbank too.
Some festive snaps from our
@LabourEWS
canvassing over the past couple of weeks!
Lots of warmth and people looking forward to the chance to change things for the better in 2024.
Great to pop in to Shoreham RNLI Lifeboat Station for their open day over Easter weekend and mark the
@RNLI
’s 200th anniversary this year.
Along with many other local residents, I had the opportunity to learn from volunteers about their crucial work to save lives at sea.
Prospect of ending support bubbles unbelievably grim. Classic example of this govt's approach to lockdown where their lived experience is living in a big house with a garden with their family. Would be devastating for anyone living alone, and have minimal impact on case numbers.
Vote for change here in East Worthing and Shoreham on 4 July.
The choice at this election is clear: five more years of Conservative chaos, or a changed Labour Party with a fully-funded plan for the country and East Worthing and Shoreham.
Hi
@thameswater
the Hopton Road SW16 water feature has been going for a week now with promises it will be fixed ‘today’ every day since then.
As you announce a hosepipe ban, could you please get this leak fixed?
Soggier than Sunak after our incredibly wet conversations with voters in Gaisford and Selden today.
Lots of enthusiasm for Labour’s plans to put the NHS back on its feet. And some very kind voters letting us have conversations under cover!
Thanks to everyone who joined us 🙂
Great morning out in Shoreham supporting
@tomrutland
.
Many residents saying that it’s time for change. A vote for Tom is a vote for change.
He will be a fantastic representative for East Worthing & Shoreham so vote Labour on 4th July🌹
Thrilled to have been elected as Vice Chair (Membership) for
@StreathamLabour
. Looking forward to working with the rest of the fantastic team to build an active and welcoming local party. Crucial elections coming up: City Hall in May and Lambeth Council next year! 🌹
It was great to meet
@MrTomGray
in the middle last night and speak with Hove CLP members about our campaigns either side of them!
Very grateful for the support they are showing for our campaign here in East Worthing and Shoreham and lovely to meet some former local teachers!
Whether you’re weighing your fruit and veg in metric or imperial, your weekly shop costs more and more under the Tories and their cost of living crisis.
EXCL: Boris Johnson plans to announce imperial measurements will be revived to mark Queen's Platinum Jubilee and boost flagging support among Brexit voters.
Tomorrow, don’t forget to cast your vote in the local elections for your brilliant Labour candidates across Adur and Worthing.
And for
@paulforPCC
!
It’s been a positive and energetic campaign across Southwick, Shoreham, Lancing and East Worthing.
Such horrible news. Tessa achieved so much - transforming children's lives through Sure Start, bringing the Olympics to London, and going on to campaign for better funding for brain cancer treatment.
I’m standing to be Treasurer of
@LGBTLabour
! It’s been a tough year without our Prides; with no chances to meet up and celebrate our incredible LGBT+ community. I’ll keep us fighting fit for the battles ahead.
Real energy and excitement in the room after
@Keir_Starmer
’s rallying speech at the
#Lab22
@SELabour
reception!
Labour’s got to win in the South East to get back into government. And we’ve never been better placed to do it. 🌹
I'm grateful for
@DisabilityLab
's endorsement to be
@WycombeLabour
's candidate.
People with disabilities have been treated with callous indignity under this Conservative government.
I will fight to end the healthcare postcode lottery that is letting too many people down.
Another day, another blood test. Been fantastic to be a part of this successful Covid-19 vaccine trial and do something other than feel helpless about the situation! Desperate to know if I got the placebo or the real thing...
Many people will be feeling anger today as Dominic Cummings speaks at the Covid-19 Inquiry.
I lost my grandad in the pandemic, having not seen him for a year as we tried to keep our loved ones safe.
Training as a Covid vaccinator helped channel my grief into something positive.
It was great to visit
@focusgrp_uk
yesterday with
@Jeremy4StMarys
and hear about their success and plans for growth, already employing 500 people at their Shoreham HQ.
📬Delighted to have the support of
@CWUnews
to be
@WycombeLabour
's next MP.📬
Postal and telecoms workers kept us all connected during the Covid lockdowns, but their reward has been unacceptable pay offers and attacks on terms and conditions.
They deserve better.
Picking up some early Christmas gifts at David’s Deli by Streatham Common station - lots of great local businesses to support on
#SmallBusinessSaturday
@BruneElections
‘London’ is far less urban than you’d expect - it was expanded under the Conservatives in the 80s to include more rural surrounding areas.
Out campaigning against the Tory bus cuts in
#Streatham
, fighting for a more regular 159, keeping the 59 coming down the Streatham High Road, and against the changes to the 133!
Yesterday, we said goodbye to my wonderful Grandad who unexpectedly died very suddenly a few weeks ago after a misdiagnosis by an overstretched health service.
NEW: My research has uncovered the appalling waiting times patients across East Worthing and Shoreham are suffering whilst waiting for an ambulance in their moment of need.
One patient waited over 80 minutes for the most serious category of call.
1 in 100 people in the UK have coeliac disease. I'm one of them.
Unfortunately, just 36% are diagnosed - meaning there are 500,000 people in the UK living with it without knowing.
Poor understanding of the symptoms means it takes an average of 13 years to get diagnosed.
Today we launch our month long campaign to drive awareness of coeliac disease.
Did you know that an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with undiagnosed coeliac disease? That’s why this year, we’re doubling down on our mission to find those individuals and guide…
Great to be out with
@WycombeLabour
spreading the word about Labour’s plans to tackle skyrocketing energy bills.
The Tories are failing to deal with the cost of living crisis. It’s time for a Labour government that will give people they security they deserve.
5.5 months into the pandemic I am willing to admit that I finally miss the events in the public affairs industry. Would kill for a potentially dull panel disc. with some cheap white wine post-work, or a breakfast event where you're unsure if you're getting a pastry or just coffee
Kate Forbes argues that it would be a 'dangerous day' for politics in Scotland if being against gay marriage is a bar to high office, which is a bold argument
#r4today
Very pleased to have won the support of
@labour4europe
to be
@WycombeLabour
's next MP.
Wycombe needs an MP who will stand up for a better, more mature relationship with our European neighbours.
Not one who backed a failed PM who couldn't say if Macron was a friend or foe...
Fantastic weekend rounding off Pride season with Europe’s first ever
#classicalpride
concert and possibly the wettest Pride march in history in Worthing.
Wonderful evening last night
@lambeth_council
’s first ever Pride reception.
Incredibly moving to meet and thank campaigners from the 60s who built a better future for later generations and people like me.
Well done
@DavidRobson84
for organising such a special occasion. 🏳️🌈
