A number of years ago a team I was visiting was laughing that one of the other teams had developed software that only had two bugs: the first bug was that it typically failed to start; the second was that when it did start, it immediately crashed.

This phenomenon repeats: - Non-technical person (like a PO) asks developers what the steps are to do something. - He writes it down as a plan - He regurgitates it back to the team like he's giving us instructions - He's confused and frustrated when we need to deviate from it

I am thinking that "packaged Agile" can't work. It's like dehydrated water. You have to add the water to get water. Agile is about attitudes and behaviors. The packaging removes the attitudes and behavior part , so it's missing the thing-that-it-is, the "sine qua non" of agile.

All I'm saying is that if *I* was trying to pull off the biggest jailbreak in history, I'd establish myself as the world's most beloved keycutter, and then get appointed Prisons Minister.

Software development is about coding in the same way as the legal profession is about English

Just had a batch of end to end tests fail, that were passing yesterday, no obvious change causing them. Because they were setting up something for a year from now. And it's only _usually_ true that today's date next year is a valid date.
