1/ A set of studies published today in the @rcpsych and @BPSOfficial journal, Evidence-based mental health, has provided evidence that mindfulness sessions do not improve student's mental health in the long run https://t.co/BqNCQUxNwd #TwitterEPs @Dr_Chestnutt @DrTeresaWheele1

NICE has given its opinion for the 3rd time that esketamine (Spravato) should not be used in the NHS for depression for any group of patients https://t.co/ZiwYArIeh5. Some of its reasons are worth outlining because they relate to many psych drugs 1/n

This letter is calling for the *indefinite* removal of facial expressions from healthcare settings Clinical work is about so much more than mandating measures. It is, at its heart, relational work. Communication matters! Building trust and feeling connected is important!

We wrote a rapid response regarding the ANTLER trial outlining the evidence that withdrawal effects might have been responsible for inflating the relapse rate in the discontinuation group: https://t.co/0wI3KWTAlv @joannamoncrieff @BethLParkin

The nation's poor mental health is predominantly a social issue. Let's not worsen population distress by invoking 'more-psychiatric-treatment' tropes to suggest otherwise. We need to re-politicise distress in the minds of policy-makers misled by years of myopic medicalisation.

The media articles leaping to the conclusion that this study shows that people should be on these drugs long-term are very misleading to the public and are going to contribute to the ongoing and unnecessary use of these medications. (18/18)
