Now we have been lied to about compensation. "You can fill in the form on the train" the guard said. I don't think that is right if you tap in and tap out. Looks like I can't even get my £4.25 back. Maybe @Heidi_Labour can help me?
We are the 1825 to Alton. The 1853 to Alton has just pulled out, on time. Did they tell us it was fully crewed? No.

Lot of frustration on this train: a fellow passenger has just used the announcement system to urge everyone to bring eggs tomorrow and get some attention!.
Heh, @transportgovuk: you now run the track and the trains to Surbiton and the service is worse than ever. On a sweltering late running train, and the guard does not know when we will get a driver, or whether we should catch another train. Hopeless!.

I think it is literally zero - most office blocks in the UK have warm air heating for winter, which is powered by a heat pump - so we already have the coolant and drip lines. We just need to click "reverse" in summer, and cool the inside rather than the outside.
@timleunig especially if you think option value. putting in the coolant and drip lines costs almost literally zero, and you can retrofit in a jiffy. once the building is done, you need to dig and plaster and cut grooves into concrete. .

Anyone who builds a new office block without aircon is nuts - especially as aircon is a heat pump, and generally offers relatively low cost, low carbon heat in winter - when electricity is likely to be more expensive.
Overton window shifting at last. U Zurich @UZH_en still convinced we should spend 700 million CHF on a new building without AC?.

I have written a chapter in an @NIESRorg @TPIProductivity book. I show what we need to do on transport and housing to make Britain more productive, and richer. Free to read -

Not sure @PJTheEconomist is competent to use a coffee machine. He isn't the most practical sort. So maybe we will stick to the water cooler.
@timleunig @racheljanetwolf @PJTheEconomist And we’re all looking forward to the podcasts (livestream from the coffee machine?).

I asked @PJTheEconomist why he chose PublicFirst. He said that when he asked people he respected they said we did more interesting work than other companies who approached him. That is true - and a good reason to hire PublicFirst for your next report.

Yet more evidence that Brexit has made us poorer - @chrisgiles_ discusses work by @CEP_LSE colleagues looking at how trade barriers have reduced our service exports to Europe. I mean, who could have guessed that trade barriers would reduce trade?

Visited the @UofC London office today. This wall has pictures of all their Nobel Prize winners. Makes you realise how far behind we are in the UK.
