another way I think about it: having a bug tracker makes sense; having personal reminders makes sense; having a company-wide universal "work tracker" doesn't. but that's exactly what jira is designed to be!.
it's not a question of how you use it; tracking and directing work in bite-sized, individual "tasks" is always harmful and ineffective. when done "well" it's merely mediocre rather than straight-up toxic.

the only reason languages seem like interchangeable tools is that all mainstream languages are mediocre reheated algols.
Either you can design systems or you can’t. If you can’t don’t expect to succeed in any engineering roles. If you can learn to let go of language debates. Literally doesn’t matter they’re just tools. You need to learn the tools in abstract, not memorize npm commands.
