The best place to relax is near water. After just 2 minutes of viewing water outdoors, blood pressure and heart rate drop. It's more calming to look at a lake, pool, or stream than trees or grass. Beaches are popular for a reason. Wider bodies of water bring more tranquility.

About 95% of patients with penicillin allergies are actually not allergic to it. Being given alternative antibiotics is harmful: higher incidence of wound infection and multi resistant bacterial infections. So itโs not necessarily better for our patient with an unconvincing

Aim to minimise harm from antibiotics by thinking about spectrum of coverage. Many forget these are not inert drugs. Protect your anaerobes!

The best way to protect your child from rising cases of #WhoopingCough and #measles is by getting them vaccinated. All routine childhood vaccinations are free, and even if your child misses any doses, you can book a catch up appointment with your GP practice. ๐ฑ๐

Really important teaching points here! Neutropenia is a risk factor for developing a bacteraemia or infection BUT it is not necessarily predictive of poor outcomes in sepsis. We also know from the NAPS data that appropriateness of antimicrobials is ~90% in this patient
