This seems like a really great way to set up a true interdisciplinary research career in the social sciences (e.g., metascience research) then partner with some engineers or computer science-y types to create a virtuous vertical: 1) here's the problem - descriptive research 2)
@vocalcry @JackScannell13 @IFP This would be a great place for academia to step in. But most academics have no clue what the bottlenecks are in drug discovery. So you have hundreds of millions spent on all sorts of vanity projects that are neither basic science nor super useful for enabling drug dev.

I'm constantly wondering if I'm a utilitarian or a consequentialist. I guess I could be both, right? No logical inconsistencies there?

Hm. Perhaps. But there is also a ton of historical evidence to suggest otherwise. Happy to hear both sides.
the hill i’ll die on drinking culture destroys dating if you need lowered inhibitions just to be real, what’s the point? if you can’t sit across from someone sober and talk for hours + actually show up as yourself, there’s no relationship there and there never will be

This is a great insight especially for public goods. Usually they have long yield time horizons.
@vocalcry @JackScannell13 @IFP In my undergraduate degree and then during my PhD we never once discussed the concept of pharma productivity. Pharma underinvests in a lot of "public good"-type projects that would catalyze the whole industry but take long to yield results.

Anyone use bun and can tell me about its benefits? I don't use JS/TS that much, but bun looks neat.

For 1) why not use Cursor's new agents feature? Less technical overhead, more visibility!
Three indispensable technologies to maximize what you get from Claude Code/Codex: 1. tmux - the terminal multiplexer. By splitting your window easily into multiple terminals, you can have multiple coding agents working simultaneously on different aspects of projects. While one
