The Air Force Flight Test Museum is open again! The models on the wall are all aircraft that made their first flight at Edwards — takeoff, landing, or both. More pictures later!

Pay your money, make your choice - the market will decide how important the distinction is. But worth noting that X-15 pilot Bob White commented on the dramatic difference between the view from 50miles vs that from 314,750 ft. Maybe these will be very different experiences?
From the beginning, New Shepard was designed to fly above the Kármán line so none of our astronauts have an asterisk next to their name. For 96% of the world’s population, space begins 100 km up at the internationally recognized Kármán line.

My Amazon UK review of Beyond Blue Skies The Rocket Plane Programs That Led to The Space Age, @thehighfrontier University of Nebraska Press 2020. A good book. Not an academic just an av geek with a keyboard, all mistakes mine. @Books2Cover

In 1969, the NASA Office of Manned Space Flight proposed a vast and elaborate piloted spaceflight scenario that encompassed LEO, GEO, Moon, and Mars outposts by 1990. NASA boss Tom Paine was its champion. Read all about it here: https://t.co/UZ4OoNuHGL

RIP @AstroMCollins. Humble, eloquent and gracious. @AndySaunders_1 mentioned the lack of photos of Mike in his prime so I thought maybe a painting could do. @NASAhistory #NASA #astronaut #carryingthefire @ArtOfAstronomy #Apollo11 @NASAMoon #apollo50th

Everest peaks... In April 1956, Lt. Colonel Frank "Pete" Everest made the first supersonic flight of the X-2 plane, reaching a speed of Mach 1.4 and an altitude of 50,000 ft! In July of the same year, he reached Mach 2.87 at 68,000 ft, earning him the title "Fastest Man Alive."

Never too mach of a good thing! April 1960: Legendary test pilot Major General Robert White flew NASA's X-15 for the first time. White would be the first pilot to fly to Mach 4, 5, and 6 (four, five, and six times the speed of sound), all in the X-15!

Really enjoying building my @LEGO_Group Shuttle Discovery. Think they used the black & white pieces in the centre where it fixes to the stand to show the model’s CoG?
