It is a good question. Let's concede the premise: Trump is a clown. Yet he's won twice, as President of US. How can this be? The real question is, how out of touch and clueless do the Dems have to be, to lose TWICE to a clown? I don't see any Dems internalizing that lesson.
It does appear as if even Trump understood that he made himself a major international buffoon in Davos. Nobody outside of the US understands how a character such as Trump can be US president.
