A number of constituents have asked how I expect to vote in the coming weeks on Brexit. I would vote for the PM’s deal, which takes us out of the EU on time. If it falls, I will vote against an extension to Article 50 and for a WTO exit on March 29th.

I’m in Parliament today to support the Organ Donation (Deemed Consent) Bill which introduces an opt-out system for organ donation. Tragically over 400 people died last year waiting for a transplant, so this move will not only reduce waiting times for patients but also save lives.

In my constituency we pay extra to attract NHS staff, despite having some of the lowest average wages in the UK. Regional pay would mean longer waiting lists for surgery, longer waits at A&E. It would mean a longer wait for an ambulance - that’s lives at risk. It also… (1/4).

It’s extremely hard to understand why the police would arrest a journalist. I hope a fuller explanation or an apology is provided very rapidly.

Yesterday I was arrested by @HertsPolice whilst covering a protest on the M25. I showed my press card, and I was handcuffed almost immediately. My phone was snatched out of my hand. I was searched twice, held in a cell for 5 hours, and I wasn’t questioned whilst in custody.
