I can't recommend enough that you stop lurking and start posting/replying. I've made some great friends here, learned amazing things, had cool conversations with completely random people. This place has many problems, but the fact that people talk to each other is precious.

Which I find kind of boring because I already spent years doing that 😅 what I find exciting is learning new things/fields!.(And as someone who had only worked with digital stuff, I find wet lab fascinating).

BTW this is a major difference between growing up in the US vs anywhere else.
Not one of my friends or family members have ever tried to belittle me for trying to start a business or publish a creative endeavor (despite many failures) and I’ve learned that this is very rare and a lot of people live in a world where this happens constantly.

If you *actually* want to make anything stick, you *must* test your recall & do spaced repetition. Generate quizzes/Anki cards, and force yourself to recap what you think you have just learned. You can dump the content into chatGPT and ask it to periodically quiz you.

I realized that all the time I was spending passively consuming educational audio/video content was a complete waste of time. I wasn’t able to properly recall almost anything I had watched/listened to, and even when I did, my knowledge was very superficial. I was fooling myself.

A few years ago I got so used to consuming video & audio content that I stopped reading for a while, because it felt less efficient. Nowadays it’s the opposite: I lack the patience for videos! it feels SUPER inefficient (vs reading text). I think this happened because….
