John gruffly told the waiter; “If she wants a bacon sandwich, she should bloody well get a bacon sandwich”. The waiter begrudgingly disappeared and a little while later a bacon sandwich appeared (3/).

One of my favourite memories was interviewing him in a very posh hotel over breakfast. I asked the waiter if they could do a bacon sandwich. The waiter snootily replied that they did not serve bacon sandwiches (2/).

Sad to hear the news about John Prescott. Before my career in tech, I started in journalism and specialised in transport for a few years. As a result I often spent time with John. He and his team were always so supportive and kind to a young journo at the start of her career (1/).

Any weather app recommendations? Previously loved Dae Skies. Apple’s weather app is now unreliable and useless for the UK (as demonstrated by the latest App Store reviews). Would love to hear if anybody has a favourite.
