It's MIS Fellow Season! Congratulations to all of the newly matched fellows. To those who are in the scramble: Don't Worry and Don't Panic! Not every career in surgery took a straight path to success. Don't get down on yourselves and keep fighting.

When you encounter a name that looks tough to pronounce: Do ❌NOT❌ say: “I’m not even gonna try”/“I’m going to butcher this” 🙄 ✅ DO ✅ 1. Try to pronounce it phonetically and ask for feedback OR simply say 2. “Pronouncing names correctly is important to me- tell me how”

We need to know... have you ever used a spoon in the operating room?
🧵on the spoon as a surgical instrument. (inspired by a post by @SKhalilMD and its replies) By this I don't mean curettes or spoon-like instruments...I literally mean an actual kitchen spoon, as it has been used during real surgical operations.

I saw this today and I love it! In the world of competition -medicine-it’s important to understand that there is room for everyone to grow and shine in their own way ✨ The more ‘wins’ we have, the better patient care, the better the system, the better the world of medicine.

I am starting my second week in my first ever faculty job. I am more nervous than I have ever been starting out at a new place. Then… I got this random page. Thank you to whoever sent this 🥹🥹🥹. It reminds me of my residency days and makes me feel home. ❤️
