Very true. The nation should not short change those who put their lives on the line. The leader must set the tone for this and get the recalcitrant babus on track.

The political executive needs to address this issue with the urgency and gravity it deserves.
Indeed a very well articulated article. However, till such time some mechanism for accountability is set, such things would continue unchecked.

The answer to that question is widely known. There is a big industry of unnecessary litigation being carried out at tax-payer / public funds. The fig leaf is saving money for the government, but the real attraction is an unending gray train of money for lawyers and their cronies.
Why does the Defence Ministry @SpokespersonMoD keep filing legal challenges against disability pensions asked for by armed forces veterans ? Why is the SPARSH portal for armed forces pensions full of glitches leading to acute inconvenience for veterans? I asked this question in
