The irony behind this photo is that he's been selling off the province of Ontario for the last 6 years.

To justify moving the Ontario Science Centre, our premier just described its current location, Flemington Park, as “a sleepy little neighbourhood in the suburbs that no one goes to.” Doug Ford has no facts. #TOpoli
Premier Doug Ford suggests the current Ontario Science Centre is in the wrong location: The new OSC at Ontario Place, Ford says will be in the "right location, not in a sleepy little neighbourhood in the suburbs that no one goes to." #onpoli

My friend launched this today. She's selling some sweet t-shirts and all proceeds will go towards trying to save the science center! ❤️

Toronto sits in a basin surrounded by the Greenbelt, a system of woods and wetlands that perform a crucial role of absorbing water. The Ontario government recently voted to open them up to development, paving them over, giving rainfall nowhere to go. It's only gonna get worse.
Today’s flooding in Toronto will likely be worse and more widespread than the recent benchmark event in July 2013 and that was a billion dollar disaster.

The Ontario government's plans to pave huge swathes of the headwaters of the Humber River, Don River, Rouge and Carruthers Creek will lead to flash floods that make today's #OnStorm flooding in Toronto look like minor dampness by comparison.
Toronto sits downhill from a LOT of impermeable pavement. With nowhere else to go, rain falling on parking lots across Toronto and the 905 flow downhill south, flooding the transit stations, basements, and streets across the City. We need to reduce paved surfaces. #onstorm

Make no mistake: the flooding we see in the city today is no surprise. It is an outcome of politicians taking a very very very shortsighted view of infrastructure planning and investment. Take a look at this vote from 2018 requesting an increase in stormwater infrastructure
@GraphicMatt @CoryJudson Dug up this vote from 2018 rate supported budget that asked for an increase in stormwater infrastructure spending. It failed.

To those arguing today's rain has nothing to do with climate change: the Doug Ford gov't conducted the first Ontario-wide climate study and found extreme precipitation is going to become more extreme and, without climate action, have devastating impacts. https://t.co/e01zErAehq

Bans on sprawl are meant to prevent the paving of river headwaters that causes this flash flooding. If we don't #StopSprawl & #Stop413, today's #OnStorm flooding in #Toronto will look trivial by comparison with what's "normal" 30 years from now. #HandsOfftheHumber

It makes me furious that @fordnation can publish an interactive map to find beer after just one weekend but he won’t do the same thing to help any of the 2.3 million Ontarians who can’t find a family doctor. #onpoli #onhealth
Make this summer an Ontario-made summer! Our new interactive map shows thousands of convenient options where you can still buy beer, wine, spirits and other drinks across the province. Check out a local brewery or winery for some fantastic Ontario-made products near you and

Craig & I wondered if can put together a ex-Shopify collective to raise funds. We will happily contribute up to 1 million dollars if it means the science centre remains where it is permanently. @adammcnamara @LorenPadelford @aratisharma @skanwar
See the report from the 3rd party eng for the Science Centre. Says cost to repair is~$6MM, $4MM to be spent this year, and $2MM over the next ten years. Does not reco closing the facility. Wtf is this corrupt bs. $4MM now is peanuts for the social good https://t.co/nXLJtJvbYh

Reminder: @fordnation happy to spend: *$1 BILLION in taxpayer money to end Beer Store contract early. *Therme got $1 BILLION and a 95 yr lease. *Agency nurses?💰 Repairing an iconic #Ontario Moriyama building for $500 Million? ($43M roof) Should be no-brainer YES! @SabiVM
Hang on. The repair will only cost 500k??? Why did other reports say ~40m? Was that simply BS??? @craigmillr and I will happily split this cost in half with you to resurrect the @OntScienceCtr back. @SaveOSC

Adam McNamara will send the Ontario Science Centre the $522,500 required to keep it open for 2024. All those summer children’s programs will not need to be cancelled/relocated. All those staff won’t be laid off or displaced at the 11th hour. I’m retweeting this because I would

The Ontario government is shutting the Science Centre today citing an engineer’s report – which does *not* say the place must close or that all work is urgent. What a betrayal.

Shame the government let it get this bad. The Ontario Science Centre is a critically important institution in science, technology, engineering, and Toronto architecture. Don’t close it. FIX IT. Sign the letter:
BREAKING: The Ontario Science Centre is closing for good today after an engineering report found the roof is in danger of collapsing, the @TorontoStar has learned. #onpoli
