This point would be sensible except for one small problem. Most rape doesn’t happen in a dark alley at 3am. It happens in people’s homes, in schools, work places, social gatherings etc. And the perpetrator is often not a stranger but someone known by the victim.

this is an incredibly disingenuous interpretation of the “rape is worse than murder” sentence. we are saying that *committing* rape is worse than murdering someone, not that experiencing it is worse (or better).

When I did jury duty, in one of the cases I was on, the judge was so clearly biased towards the middle-class guy vs the working class guy (the defendant) and it was evident to all the jurors. It truly radicalised me seeing the condescension and framing of the case up-close.

europeans are so stupid about tipping, man. one, understand that most houses operate with a tip pool. your server isn't getting $200, the entire front of house is splitting it. two, your math here of "4 people, 2-3 plates each" would mean an average of $250/dish on a $3000 check.

Not sure why Brits are being so fucking rude. Our servers make way more than American ones as an hourly wage, most of our sit down restaurants have a 12.5% service charge baked in to avoid you cheapskates under-tipping. And I know full well most of you aren’t demanding it removed

Unpopular opinion that might ruffle feathers: parental ‘sacrifice’ is a myth. A child’s wellbeing is a parent’s responsibility, not a favour. Any sacrifice is yours to bear, not theirs to repay. Raise them fully cognizant of your challenges but know that it’s duty, not charity.
