@SalfordMe2023
Nah he’s right though, the average Brit doesn’t care what’s happening in a sandpit on the other side of the world, because we have our own domestic issues that are constantly overlooked in favour of literally any other country’s issues
Cyclist’s fault, plain and simple.
Sees the Mini turning through the gap, doesn’t adjust his speed on the blind bend, then when he’s 1-2m away from the car, he pedals some more?
@TfL
You made a typo:
"Lower speed limits play a critical role in the Mayor’s Vision Zero plan to eliminate deaths and serious injury on the transport network."
Meant to say:
"Lower speed limits play a critical role in the Mayor's Zero Vision plan to eliminate driving"
So who should be giving way to who here?
This truck driver said he saw me as he was already halfway turning across
#Cycleway4
.
It's my understanding from the Highway Code rule H3 that just because you're in a truck it doesn't exempt you from stopping and waiting....
@anticarsls
The fact they “love” what they’re doing shows the true reasons behind their actions
If they cared about the cause they wouldn’t love any part of it - but it’s all for their own ego and excitement
Ultimate virtue signallers
@shearersbuddy
@fesshole
I’ve been doing it for 10+ years including for my £520 psvr2 that they left next to my bin on a busy junction in tooting so the red flag is clearly meaningless
Can you name a single other type of road user that complains about basic road usage at the same level as cyclists?
Everything is a problem for them
Wildly impractical mode of transport
Never forget when
@SadiqKhan
, The
@MayorofLondon
, who lives in Tooting, denied knowledge of the congestion caused by the Streatham Wells LTN ~3 months after its implementation.
Does this sound like a leader/representative with his finger on the pulse?
Here is a picture showing
I've just asked the Mayor about the "wall of buses" traffic gridlock in Streatham. He told me he's not aware of problems!
Let me remind him.
First: bus drivers considering strike action. A bus took 55 mins to travel 2 stops when it normally takes 4 mins
@505PIR
@sticky_bottle
Or just… move out of the way for a few seconds to let the group of passengers pass instead of acting like a petulant child trying to score internet points?
Impatient, close passing moped driver knocked us off our bike today. Fortunately the police (?) were right behind us, so they could scold me for not wearing a helmet and then leave. First time off my bike since 2007.
Sigrid is fine; my knee is messed up, can't ride for a bit.

can I get odds on
1: Laurence not moving on
2: This tweet not being Laurence’s final public thought on the matter?
3: Laurence finding something else to turn into a disaster by the weekend
Greg at it again with another absolute clanger that yet again, has backfired on him, this time with a community note
The cycle lobby must dread whenever this bloke posts
Hello
@LondonFire
Is there any chance you could follow your own advice?
Left turning trucks failing to look out for cyclists at junctions is the most deadly thing when it comes to cycling around London.
Seems to be something this driver of yours has forgotten.
Cyclists: even if it only saves one life, lowering the speed limit is wholly justified
*cyclist kills a pedestrian at 29mph in a 20mph*
Cyclists: speed limits for us?! Hold the phone! What about cars?
@anon_opin
Because immigration is a bigger problem for them, they deal with it more than us, they see more of the negatives and a more drastic change in their way of life than we do
They are on the frontlines
@JustStop_Oil
"small toy drones" is a euphemism for "trying to control the lives of everyone around us by undermining democracy because things aren't going our way"
Brags about scratching cars
Gets humiliated by
@CommunityNotes
Changes argument to say he didn’t actually scratch any cars
Attention seeking disorder
@cyclegaz
Floating bus stops in Park Lane, London. This is dangerous. The bus stops are not fit for purpose. The zebra crossings are like chocolate fireguards, they do not work. It is essential access to & from the bus is direct from the pavement without having to cross a cycle lane first.
@IsSaddleThereIs
@YvetteCooperMP
@RoadPeace
Because there is no good argument for the need for crossbows
There is an argument for the need of cars
The fact this one was a Land Rover is irrelevant - a VW Polo could’ve mounted that curb and ploughed through the fence
Cars aren’t going away anytime soon - your best bet is
Lots of cyclists on here crying about photo ID being required for voting
Which is strange, considering 80% of cyclists allegedly posses a valid UK driving license
They must have all "handed them back in"

The “communists at ofcom” simply don’t want broadcasters to employ politicians to exclusively promote one political party on a regular schedule
Play by the rules or don’t cry when you’re caught breaking them
Whatever your opinion of the BBC is, they aren’t paying Rayner to
@Skuz_Bukit
@Instantregretss
So we’re all supposed to play along with cyclists trying to hold us hostage to bully us onto bikes?
No thanks, bus driver needs a medal

I'm sure there's an unfunny comedian that ticks a token box for you out there Richard? you're not forced to watch the most successful comedians of our time

My final thoughts, before I move on. As we have a busy day helping a girl who misgendered another student, by refusing to call her a cat.
I know. Welcome to 2023.
People are entitled to have a view on what I said and that is fine by me. Whilst a bit crass, it certainly didn’t
@Iromg
@dennis_live6
Rich coming from someone that has repeatedly been confronted with the facts on this matter but continues to push his own narrative
Remember when you went on radio and told the country you could grow concrete?
You’re a “speak loudly first, ask questions later kinda guy”
Strange, because despite 0 endorsement points in over 12 years and 600k miles of driving in I’m still subjected to ridiculously low speed limits and road closures/lane removal etc etc
If it only applies to the incompetent drivers, where do I apply for my exemption permit?
End of the road for shared paths?
In addition I’d suggest no longer riding on shared paths particularly in busy areas.
Councils should also be held culpable in any cases of pedestrian or cyclist deaths on shared paths.
Make no mistake, I'm not excusing the sheer incompetence of the driver
but these things are only going to increase in frequency as we continue to do moronic things like normalising walking in roads
Driver reverses her car into an elderly woman in Southall. According to witnesses, the driver did not exchange details and drove off (we do not have CCTV of this)
Hahahahahahaha
She made people miss funerals
She made people miss cancer appointments
She made people miss flights
She made people miss school
Fuck her brother’s fucking wedding
Denying this simple request is both cruel and vindictive. Jemima has been cooperative and has humoured the courts by agreeing to go to prison, why can she not have a day off?
This is completely unreasonable and totally unfair.
Cyclists: we don’t need to follow rules because we aren’t a threat to anyone
Also cyclists: stay out of our lanes because otherwise we’re a threat to you
@RantyHighwayman
@jshmellor
There has to be a sensible middle ground somewhere. I often see visibly disabled people using
#Cycleway4
and I wouldn't doubt there is a greater number who don't appear so from just looking at them also cycling.
Would they feel comfortable on the main road in 20+ mph traffic?
@CitizenUddin
We dont need to give you reasons to live the lives we choose to live
Do you understand how pretentious and entitled you sound with tweets like this?
Who are you to dictate what we “should” be doing?
@swalesmetroprof
20mph has nothing to do with safety, much like LTNs are designed to dissuade driving according to Labour (image below), 20mph limits are also intended to discourage driving.
Driving at 20mph feels ridiculous - we didn’t all magically lose the ability to control our cars at 30mph
"Children should learn and follow the Green Cross Code like we did when we were kids 😡"
Green Cross Code. 'NEVER cross between parked cars'
Every residential street in the UK 2024 👇
@CycleNott
There wasn’t a cut
It remains frozen
It also doesn’t need to help every single person
That’s a bit like asking how a council tax freeze/“cut” benefits people that don’t pay it
Tweets like this hinder your agenda more than helping it
Speeding cyclist who crashed into pensioner, 81, while racing at 29mph in a 20mph zone avoids prosecution after she dies - because speed limits don't apply to bicycles, court hears
I for one have to post anonymously because people like Jon kept trying to contact my employer over a difference in political opinion
Ask yourself why they are so desperate to identify you…
Someone just sent this to me & I have to 😂. Burke blocked me after my first few tweets because he could not discuss the harmful LTN experiment with one of its victims who was well-educated, articulate, & cares about the most vulnerable in our society. Not male & not anonymous!
No doubt we'll hear calls to introduce horse licence plates, compulsory insurance for horses and for horse riders to pay "road tax"! Anything to deflect from the daily horrors caused by motorists.
Third option (and the most likely):
Rules have been made ridiculous since Covid
Lowering limits to nonsensical speeds (20mph) to try and get people out of cars is obviously going to result in higher offending rates
@theInfraPM
Yes. We do it almost every day.
If nobody stops to let the lorry turn he’s just going to be trapped causing congestion
Big ask of twitter cyclists to have some basic etiquette, granted.
Dear arrogant self entitled cyclist dinging your little bell and yelling obscenities at me on this path. No I won’t be getting out of your way, as you now know. Walking the 200m wasn’t so hard was it. Remember the hierarchy of vulnerability and the need to comply with signs?!
Surely that isn’t
@jonburkeUK
complaining about not hearing people like me explain that this image is taken *after* the Kwik Fit, right where we expected traffic to return to and nowhere near where the traffic was backed up to before?
Maybe if he stopped blocking the people
Yay, the Kingsbury Rd bridge is open again. Business as usual with the hazardous car parking also. Forcing people riding bicycles into the door zone.
#Cycleway1
will always disappoint.
@CycleIslington
@hackney_cycling
why is this not a double yellow line? 😒
@carltonreid
Carlton is trying to claim that anybody against nonsensical road closures is a conspiracy theorist
Carlton has no good faith argument, which is why he does this.
Another example of wildly disproportionate infrastructure to try and encourage cycling in a country full of stubborn people that have repeatedly made it clear en-masse through every form of media that they want nothing to do with cycling
Such a futile war that is only resulting
@KiwiEV
That’s… not the argument people have against EVs when mentioning fires
It’s the difficulty of extinguishing the fire vs tradition ICE fires
That’s why car parks often have “no EVs” policies, not because of spontaneous combustion.
@newdawn75
&🦮Nellie visited a new type of bus stop in a cycle lane close to Kew Bridge in London. Sarah is not often lost for words but this scheme left her speechless. ‘There’s nothing to keep me safe, there’s nothing to keep Nellie safe. It is ridiculous & it is dangerous.’
