@yengyosi_ You probably won’t believe me but there is also deep poverty and desperation in the first world. Sometimes, it’s even worse because of the lack of community and isolation or there’s increased access to drugs/guns that completely ruins lives and makes recovery impossible.

Imagining lecturing Thais about state of things in their country. Thai-Chinese and mainland Chinese are completely different groups of ppl. Just bc Thai-Chinese are oppressing the poor Thais doesn’t mean we have to hate mainland Chinese. Also, unlike SK, Thais aren’t homogeneous.

하도 저놈들이 영어로만 말하니까 서울 어떤 카페 사장이 직원들도 힘들어한다고 “여긴 한국이다. 영어 쓰는 곳 아니다. 모르면 번역기 돌려라” 이렇게 붙여놨다가 틱톡에 올라온 적 있었음 ㅋ 다들 호의로 영어로 말해줄 수는 있겠지. 근데 너무 당연한 것처럼 다 맞춰주려고 하진 않았으면 좋겠음.

I've seen a few comments saying they also experienced racism in Japan. As someone who worked for Japanese corporations, I'm aware that some of them are racist, but I didn't expect they would do it to tourists. Visit SEA instead!

i’d also like to broaden this to say that, in my eyes, whenever you defend or promote any element of israel, the “cuisine”, the “culture”, the athletes, you are endorsing propaganda and enabling a genocidal settler colonial project. that says what kind of person you are.
To me, supporting Israel is a major character flaw. I don't care what other values you hold, that is enough to tell me the kind of person you really are.

I don't think people would want to go to a place where "Filipino" is used as a slur for darker-skinned Koreans. SK used to be on my travel list, but the way SEA people are treated (even way before the SEAbling vs SK drama) put me off.
