We have a new preprint by Jonas Simoens, Tom Verguts, and myself, where we wanted to investigate whether people can learn to associate different environments to different learning rates? https://t.co/25fHijVRH9.

Very happy to share our new paper (@stolzch, @ad_pickering, & @mellr_erek) showing that feedback valence effects on brain oscillations 🧠 depend on the learning context, here monetary reward vs. threat avoidance learning.

Brain responses to negative feedback depend on the consequences: receiving punishment vs. not receiving reward! New paper by @stolzch: Dissociable feedback valence effects on frontal midline theta during reward gain versus threat avoidance learning

Stoked to share our latest preprint showing that the relationship between trait openness to experience and episodic memory performance in older adults was mediated by memory brain-network activity during encoding. @JoramSoch @SchottBjorn https://t.co/fc7ibIfvj8

Had such a great time discussing research with new and old colleagues/friends at the @TheRealSPR 2022 meeting. Vancouver has so many beautiful places; def gonna visit again. Photos show North Shore mountains, waterfront, Burrard Street, and Kyuss + Bathory LPs from @Audiopile_ 😎

Congratulations to the ten poster winners from #2022SPR. Posters are judged for a clear statement of the research problem; sound methods and statistical analysis; the appropriateness and clarity of figures and graphics; and a concise and well-organized presentation.

Unfortunately not (quite the contrary 😢) @mael_lebreton, @sophiebavard, Jean Daunizeau + me, showed that model-based fMRI can actually generate spurious correlations, which explains why results "model parameter x correlates with activity in area X in our (n=20) study" are common

I think this deserves attention from anyone working on improving (?) models of the n-choice paradigms (including me) and it can certainly not being dismissed on account of being a rant from two frustrated scientists... https://t.co/6irh5DcX9p
