exclusive for @njdotcom, I obtained audio of a @camdencountynj official saying Friday’s huge EMR fire could have led to flooding of half-a-million homes with raw sewage or caused a spill into #NewJersey waterways. It could have easily “made national news.”

The blaze could have caused millions of gallons of raw sewage to spill into people’s homes or nearby waterways.

@MikieSherrill “There’s a difference between having a concern and demonstrating a fact that proves that concern to be true,” @NewJerseyDEP Commissioner @shawnlatur told me on the NESE pipeline. The feds reviewing/approving the project limits NJ. But that won’t stop nonprofit legal challenges!

The Northeast Supply Enhancement pipeline “does nothing” to lower electric bills for New Jersey residents, @MikieSherrill contends. After freezing utility rates on Day 1, the Gov-elect has promised to drive new power into the grid including solar, battery storage and nuclear.

new for @njdotcom, I spoke with @MicahJRasmussen of @RiderUniversity, nonprofits and others about a heated proposal to build a gas pipeline under part of #NewJersey and NY. It comes after an election in which affordability and utility rates dominated. https://t.co/iJrnxSJDB0

Loved this piece by @stevenrodasnj and with terrific photos by @AndyMills_NJ. Great storytelling with an only-in-Jersey hook. https://t.co/BixdwGKSzx

@johnsb01 and I took a look at Black and Latino voters for New Jersey's tight race for governor. Mikie Sherrill and Jack Ciattarelli both have opportunities — and issues — to pick up these voters: https://t.co/r4IYapaB2o

Both candidates, Jack Ciattarelli and Mikie Sherrill, have strengths and weaknesses courting this key voting bloc

@NewJerseyDEP The history of the shacks is bountiful. As many as 100 (or more!) cottages are believed to have dotted the island park at one point. “We’re just hoping the good Lord fixes everything and we can stay,” said 87-year-old Howard Height, who has gone to the shacks his entire life.

The @NewJerseyDEP worries the cottages are a “public safety concern” because of rising sea levels and climate change. “The land will be restored to its natural state,” a spokesperson said. NJ officials also cited a new sanitary sewer line installed the shacks are not a part of.

mini-exclusive for @njdotcom, New Jersey is kicking a group of families out of the historic Island Beach State Park fishing shacks. Leave or possibly face eviction after Friday, despite an initial lease agreement. With great photos from @AndyMills_NJ https://t.co/3NXETQ9DfR

I finished every conversation I had with Todderick in a better mood than when we started. He did a great job covering Rutgers football recruiting, but his big laugh and constant smile will be what I remember most about him. May he rest in peace.

Todderick had a disarming personality that made everyone comfortable around him and a GREAT sense of humor. He never missed a chance to brag about his wife, Kianna, and their four kids. He was so proud of them. This one hurts. (2/2)

@USDOT @NJGov @USTreasury @pjminterconnect @CommerceGov @Princeton @NOAA @EPA @GovMurphy @fema The @urbaninstitute says for New Jersey this translates to $130 million in BRIC funds in jeopardy. Flood Mitigation Assistance is harder to square but — data shows — NJ was in the top 3 of states to receive these funds from 2020-2024: 59 projects for around $121 million 13/

Also after a freeze amid a legal battle, the feds reopened the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program, meaning more than $104M meant for EV chargers in NJ will indeed be coming 11/
