The PM just months ago: ‘Digital ID is the future, it’ll curb illegal working, cut costs … opponents are scaremongering’ - ministers sent out to defend a policy Keir Starmer has now scrapped. His 13th major u-turn and there will be more to come. Why advocate for something you

EXC: Sir Keir Starmer has abandoned plans for mandatory digital ID for workers amid concerns it will undermine public trust in the scheme. Workers to be given the choice of whether to use other documents to verify their identity digitally instead.

The regime in Iran brutalises women, persecutes gay people, and spreads terror around the world. If the regime falls, the UK cannot be a sanctuary for enforcers of repression. My letter to @Keir_Starmer.

Last night we saw the police stand by as protestors called for ‘armed resistance…by any means’ outside an Israeli restaurant in Notting Hill. Yet another example of harassment and incitement to violence against Jews and law abiding people on our streets. In Birmingham, we

This intimidation by a gang of bigots is frightening ordinary people, abusing the law, wasting police time, trying to ruin a small business and using the privileges of British freedom of speech to protect a mob of bullying brownshirts. It must be banned now. @metpoliceuk

Just last year Defra Ministers confirmed in Parliament scientific innovation on precision breeding would be protected. It unlocks higher crop yields with fewer pesticides. Would be another U-turn, and damaging for food security, nature & UK science👇 https://t.co/y1uiu6RXFX

A huge amount of stress and anxiety caused to farmers and their families because Labour refused time and again to listen to clear evidence. It is welcome that a partial u-turn has belated been made. It does not however fully address the problems of this tax for rural communities.

📘 This has been recognised as a problem by NHS leaders. The latest NHS England Integrated performance report said patients waiting over 52-week waits for community services ‘continues to be challenged having increased by circa 37,000 since June 2024’. https://t.co/WyuW2Zbv3a

🕰️ And it is not just the number of people waiting for community health services that is going up under Labour. The number facing long waits are also increasing.

📈 Since Labour came to power, the waiting list for these services has grown. The list now stands at 1,154,912 people. That means almost 90,000 more people were waiting in September 2025 than there were in July 2024. https://t.co/sOWdylCFU7

Here is what the OBR actually said 👇🏻 - their review of the economy gave the Chancellor MORE money, not less. The impact of lower productivity was more than offset by other changes. Taxes are going up because Labour chose to spend more on welfare. Pure and simple.

The OBR say in black and white that the productivity downgrade knocked £16 billion off tax revenues and was nothing to do with this government's policies. Their forecasts aren't our destiny, but this government took the responsible decisions in light of them.
