Some articles mean more when they make it out into the world, ...because you are extra proud of the work, it took a lot of intentional work to get the darn thing written and through review, or you're hopeful it might actually be useful.

You’ll all be happy to know I managed to “come out of the home” and get to work today. I’m helping to support my family and contributing to this great community... because... 2021.

1st week of grad school: "Well, if you can't pass this qualifying exam (that he told me I had just failed), then you don't belong in graduate school". I remember calling my mom from a pay phone in tears. But picked myself up and have a PhD thank you very much.

I'm excited about doing this workshop on First Gen students next month. I've done it before in person, but I can always use another opportunity to explore AND this will give me a chance to see Canvas from the student perspective!

Know someone who'd love work with students supporting undergraduate research? Our Institute for Inclusive and Transformative Scholarship is looking for an Undergraduate Research Project Manager. The office is full of great colleagues! Spread the word! https://t.co/WnS6Wa4nIn

Great opportunity for reflection (and really helpful tears) at #lovePOD20 with @lrningsanctuary and @joshuacaulkins. Thank you. #pod20 does not disappoint.

I appreciate some parts of the virtual formats (e.g., being able to do a workout on my rowing machine during an APLU session), but I miss connecting in person. I don't do so well with carving out the time to be really present from home. (2/2)

Shout out to Boise State's @profLisaE! , who says that the best approach to reducing cheating... is something both simple and hard to realize, especially during a crisis: better teaching. Here, here!

Grad school PIs, getting a note like this alongside edits could go a long way towards helping your students who suffer from Imposter Syndrome. Especially remember your BIPOC and women students who regularly feel inadequate or don't often get praise from their higher ups.
My PI sent me this after he finished going over my latest paper draft. I gotta say, this did more to silence the little mean voice in my head than any of my own self-care, self-affirmations, or "I'm good enough, smart enough, and gosh-darn-it people like me"s in the mirror.
