On #SocialMobilityAwarenessDay, I went #StateSchoolProud. I ended up being the first in my family to go to university and I’m now making a change in the charity sector. I would’ve never thought I’d end up where I am but I’m forever grateful for the chances to succeed in life.

I am also #StateSchoolProud. And as a qualified teacher I was always told (by fellow teachers) that the best teachers are in state schools. Here I am in my school uniform with my weaponised collar. @93percentclub

I am #StateSchoolProud @93percentclub 4 years old here, first school picture 1955. 50 children in every class - chalk and wood framed slates in reception. State school all the way. Graduated Manchester Uni 1975 first in family to go to Uni. Fees paid/grants made that possible.
