“AI companies copy their work for training, then sell access to the trained model - *which competes at unheard-of scale with the people whose work it uses*. The social contract under which people create is being broken.”

People in AI often justify the exploitation of creatives' work for AI training with versions of: 'If people can learn from your work, why can't AI?' But this totally ignores the social contract under which people create and share their work. Traditionally, when people created

So Google is stealing what others created and reselling it in their own package. Okay, Google can make money that way now. But what about later when there’s nothing left to steal?

As an example of how we are building on top of Gemini 3, AI Mode in Search now uses Gemini 3 to enable new generative UI experiences, all generated completely on the fly based on your query. Here’s how you might use this to learn a complex topic like how RNA polymerase works.

Google’s AI Mode is plagiarizing millions of websites at scale. The only choice we’ve been given is to opt-out of being indexed, which would remove our websites from Google Search completely. Even if we did that, there is no guarantee that they will stop regurgitating our work.

@pedrodias @rustybrick @lilyraynyc @natejhake @jeremyknauff @enovinson @YoungbloodJoe @Google @glenngabe Thanks for confirming that you could see it. It gets worse unfortunately. The latest more visual AI Mode model now adds our images (and others) into the mix to make the branded plagiarized AI Frankenstein recipes even more ridiculous!

IMPORTANT message for everyone using Gmail. You have been automatically OPTED IN to allow Gmail to access all your private messages & attachments to train AI models. You have to manually turn off Smart Features in the Setting menu in TWO locations. Retweet so every is aware.

Thank you Jeff, for solving the mystery of why people interested in making toys no longer visit my website. It was a puzzle why, recently, traffic fell to zero - since my website had always been a helpful resource to answer questions about toy making. The interested individuals

This you, @KubickiWo?

We’re all feeding Google’s regurgitation machine now. See all those websites bunched up on the righthand side that never get clicked on? That’s how the web dies.

What Google is doing is/should be illegal⚖️ AI Mode now: -scrapes dozens of websites -cannibalizes their content -reconstructs **an entire UI** from the stolen parts The worst part? Websites have NO CHOICE -- because Google refuses to let us separately block AI Mode's

Gemini 3.0 just refactored my entire codebase in one call. 25 tool invocations. 3,000+ new lines. 12 brand new files. It modularized everything. Broke up monoliths. Cleaned up spaghetti. None of it worked. But boy was it beautiful.

Liquid Glass is a design cancer. It consumes and overwhelms everything it touches by adding intense distortions, drop shadows, lighting effects, and unnatural spacing to controls and UI in ways that make them harder to see and understand. It is pretty, and seductive, but it
