I felt so deeply honored to be a part of this intimate, insightful, courageous conversation. The 2024 AAPI Heritage Month has concluded, but the lessons I learned on healing as a form of justice, vulnerability as strength, and joy will stay with me for way beyond! (3/3)

I live by Columbia. Tonight I went for a walk & saw 10+ blocks rapidly barricaded, dozens of police vehicles flying by, large groups of NYPD in riot gear gathering. I study protest in E Europe. What I saw tonight was some of the most wildly disproportionate policing I've seen 1/

Unsurprised that there are folx who see counseling as a "backup" to clinical. AND I never considered going into clinical psychology because of this field's general lack of interest in conceptualizing psychological distress/health in context-minded ways.

Very happy to share that our article on the UnGuide is now published in the JHEOE. https://t.co/4PCcY8hukd Quick takeaway and more in the comments: Students, and particularly students from systematically marginalized and disenfranchised communities have gifts and assets.

More than once, I’ve had to ask people to not call me by my last name (“Li”). I also have to do the emotional labor of explaining the meaning of my first name and thanking them “in advance” for using it when they should be apologizing for never trying until called out😅
