And I think that's gotten worse over the years. Not to be all like "back in my day" but disney movies don't even really have villains anymore.

Like there are plenty of times we just . don't want to tackle serious subjects in the favor of comfort, if that makes sense. There definitely is American media that has and does, but I also think there's just . an unwillingness to cause discomfort in audiences.

I think it's really, really interesting that this judgement is so based in Americanized perspectives of what children can handle. And I've said before American media, even for adults, is often so focused on happy endings.
Ooku and Don’t Call it Mystery been living rent free in my head but something I keep seeing is people saying they’re josei manga (presumably because they’re see as “mature” series) but they’re both shoujo manga guys lol. I feel like we often limit what we think kids can handle.

Liberals if you're still mad at 2024 I beg you to take that frustration to the DNC and force them to run popular progressive policies rather than courting the mythical moderate republican who they think is going to vote for a democrat this time.

It's been almost a whole year since the 2024 election and I am honestly sick of hearing how this is leftists fault (their vote didn't matter in 2024 as I recall), or people protesting genocide (their vote also didn't matter in 2024 as I recall) instead of the campaigns.
