I love where we live and am grateful for the opportunity to contribute in my community and region. An incredible part of British Columbia to call home!
I have struggled all day to try and find words . . . the last people that should have to deal with the protests we saw today are the incredible healthcare workers that have worked to the point of exhaustion and with personal risk to keep us safe. Please know how grateful we are!
I read this with disbelief and some anger. First there were protests that blocked hospitals and now people entering schools. There are ways to express your views, but not like this . . . stop it! Students and staff deserve better!
A school district in B.C.’s Southern Interior says all schools in its zone will be in lockdown mode starting Monday after COVID vaccine protesters entered three schools on Friday.
So very kind of you, I am deeply touched. I am broken hearted at the loss of our amazing “Billy”. He faced this difficult journey in the same way he lived his life, with a quiet strength and an overwhelming, deep love for his family. He was my best friend and life partner!
We pass along our deepest condolences to Shirley Bond on the passing of her husband Bill. One half of Team Bond. Bill and Shirley have worked tirelessly on behalf of all of Northern BC with wit and humor, energy and passion they were an amazing team for all of us.
This is our fight in BC. Our BC effort. And this is our time, our moment.
These weeks are critically important to all of us. We have to do more now. We must hold the line. We have to be all in. 100%.
If we do that, we can flatten the curve and slow the spread of
#COVID19

Thank you

42 years ago today I married my best friend. While we may have changed over the years, one thing didn’t change . . . still love you to the moon and back! Miss you Billy . . .
Now I admit, this made my day!! Good to know that

made the difference. Still have some work to do on the home “zoom room”, but going to commission the grandsons to do a little art! It worked for

after all!
#CityofPG
I'd like to thank
@VancityReynolds
for reaching out to me this morning & all who helped make that happen. Thank you for your kindness, you gave all of us something to feel joyful about today!
Brody is going to be so excited with this big surprise! We're cheering for you Brody!
Brody is one tough little boy. He has one big wish, to connect with his hero

I know there is someone out there that can help us make this connection. Fighting cancer is one tough battle, let’s hope

Thank you
@jjhorgan
, I appreciate it. We both know that public service isn’t for the faint of heart, but the opportunity to work with an amazing caucus in this capacity is truly an honour. I look forward to seeing you in Question Period!
Congratulations
@shirleybond
on becoming interim leader of the BC Liberals. As an MLA since 2001, she has an incredible amount of experience. Looking forward to working with her in her role as leader of the opposition to support British Columbians through the pandemic and beyond.
The Opposition team is sending our very best wishes to
@jjhorgan
and his family. We’ve known each other a long time and yes we debate fiercely, but ultimately we share a love for family, community and province. Wishing you nothing but the very best in the days ahead Premier!
Thanks
@adriandix
for bringing this group together. We really appreciate the opportunity to work together on behalf of seniors and their families. Thank you to the
@SrsAdvocateBC
for her hard work. I appreciate the ministry staff and my MLA colleagues for the collaboration!
With all due respect Minister
@adriandix
there have been numerous questions about the order expiring and the answer was to wait for answers on Tuesday. Instead orders are posted, no avail and more anxiety and confusion. Simple fix - hold the media avail today. before the expiry!
The previous December 22nd orders had end dates of 12:01 am, Tuesday, January 18. Dr. Henry will be providing an update on the new orders on Tuesday, January 18 – this updated order was made to ensure the order remained in place until Dr. Henry spoke about them on Tuesday.

So we hear nothing all weekend during a significant surge and then they wait another day before announcing the next steps - while people struggle to sort it all out - come on
@jjhorgan
British Columbians deserve better than this.

@keithbaldrey
It is shocking that this happened, kids and staff unable to leave the school and now locked doors are necessary!! How could anyone think this is appropriate?
Thank you so much
@VancityReynolds

The

Thanks for giving us all something to smile about today!
Let’s not lose sight of the issue here, we were asking on behalf of 900,000 British Columbians who don’t have a family doctor. The questions may not be easy or comfortable, but he is the Premier of BC, he needs to take these issues seriously.
I am calling on
@jjhorgan
and
@adriandix
to find the support and resources necessary to ensure that clinics stay open so people can continue to get booster shots! “While Omicron spreads, B.C. vaccine clinics are closing for the holidays” | CBC News
Thank you so much
@keithbaldrey
He was an incredible person. Since the first time I was elected, for every trip to Victoria he dropped me at the PG airport and was there to pick me up, no matter how late the hour. I am so broken hearted, but blessed to have had 41 years!
Shame on the NDP! So much for being a democratic process, they intended for this to be a coronation all along.
@Dave_Eby
didn’t do the work, said nothing about the critical issues facing our province and then is handed the keys to the Premier’s office! The fix was in . . .
So disappointing to hear Premier
@jjhorgan
justify the unwillingness to improve data sharing and transparency in BC because it may create “hysteria”. Unbelievably disrespectful. British Columbians need and deserve the best information possible to inform their decisions.
Seriously
@jjhorgan
you are the Premier of the entire province. Those of us who live in more rural or remote communities face crushing gas prices too and you tell us to “think before you hop in a car”? Many British Columbians have few other options and deserve better from you!
Premier
@jjhorgan
asked about gas prices & financial relief at press conference about the

Northern Health region. . . from briefing today - COVID 19 spreading at higher than average rate, people becoming severely ill, hospitals pushed to the limit! Please do your part and get vaccinated, clinics are available across the region.
Relieved to see a Restart Plan for our province! Grateful beyond words for frontline workers who have worked so tirelessly on our behalf and thankful that the majority of British Columbians did everything they were asked to do and more. Let’s stay focused and meet the targets!
Today, the NDP announced serious travel restrictions with zero details. Many people don't know if they'll be able to travel to work on Friday.
People have the right to be frustrated with
@jjhorgan
. Once again we're seeing a Premier shoot from the hip & hope for the best.
#BCpoli
314 fires burning, 42 new ones in the last 2 days .. evacuations, alerts, smoke,air quality advisories, anxious British Columbians, tireless efforts by wild fire personnel, it’s time
@jjhorgan
- put a State of Emergency in Place and use every resource, every tool!!
Actually
@jjhorgan
I am hoping that she would ask you to apologize for this and other comments made in the House today. It is our job to ask the tough questions, especially on behalf of the 900,000 British Columbians without a family doctor, British Columbians expect better!
While the NDP sits on hundreds of millions of unpaid business relief funds,
@TheWHL

@GoBCHL

And this from a Premier who wanted a majority government so badly that he called an election during a pandemic . . . Time to look in the mirror
@jjhorgan
British Columbians expect action
@jjhorgan
@adriandix
not flippant comments like this. Placing an ad in a newspaper to get a prescription refilled is an indication of the state of our healthcare system on your watch. Action is long overdue, maybe check the 30 day plan we sent you
John Horgan on what will happen if Federal government doesn't show up with more health care money - "Maybe I will take an ad out in the paper."

We appreciate your efforts to keep British Columbians updated with the latest information
@adriandix

@richardzussman
? How about the frustration that British Columbians feel who don’t have a family doctor? We asked legitimate questions that deserve a serious answer, maybe not comfortable for

Why not ask
@jjhorgan
if a last minute announcement to a sector that has already been hard hit is fair
@keithbaldrey
tough questions are ok for the Premier too. The sector has been operating in good faith, trying to survive! Households are allowed to dine out! Why the surprise?
The NDP continue to deny the use of rapid testing in long-term care while using those tests at prisons, airports, & film sets. We continue to call for action to use every possible measure to reduce transmission to protect our most vulnerable loved ones.
People see us debate and disagree as politicians and that was certainly the case for
@jjhorgan
and I, but what they don’t see is the other side of the story. John’s handwritten note to my family when we lost Billy, my concern for John and his family with his cancer diagnosis . .
Wow, this is nothing to make jokes about
@jjhorgan
. The healthcare system in our province is in crisis while you sit waiting on another level of government! We have given you a list of things you could be doing now in our province . . . time for action is long overdue . . .
Asked about Victoria woman taking out ad in the paper to plead for a doctor to get her 82-yr-old husband prescription meds,
@jjhorgan
says
@JustinTrudeau
needs to give more $ for health care.
Asked what he'll do if PM doesn't, Horgan says "maybe I'll take out an ad in the paper."
Over 12,000 people have signed a petition calling on the NDP to improve access to rapid tests. We continue to call for the use of the millions of rapid tests that BC has received. We should be using every tool in the toolbox
@jjhorgan
The Premier said the healthcare system was “teetering” - this would confirm we are in a full blown crisis. When are you going to take some action
@jjhorgan
@adriandix
?
This ad in Saturday’s

How many more special advisors does
@Dave_Eby
need! What role exactly do Cabinet Ministers have now? How many layers of people and salaries does he need to have to get something done on these key issues??
Premier
@Dave_Eby
has hired former Victoria mayor Lisa Helps as his special advisor on housing.
The official title is "Housing Solutions Advisor" and she will help him handle the gov's building fund.
Seriously
@jjhorgan
your morning interview on
@GlobalBC
was an embarrassment. You continue to cling to reasons for this election that are not credible! Disruptions in the summer you say?? Everyone knows the truth, time to admit it! Majority government maybe . . .
Why not call it what it is
@richardzussman
. . . a mess! Today
@jjhorgan
created confusion and chaos related to the federal pass. To be clear - BC did not meet the standards that the majority of other provinces did!! Why not? Still waiting for a coherent answer from government!
NEW - British Columbians will be able to access the federal vaccine card on October 30. There is no timeline on when the BC Vaccine Card and federal vaccine passport will be integrated.

Well did you talk to the 72 organizations that represent thousands of job creators in British Columbia who wrote to the Prime Minister telling him they want you to stop trying to block the pipeline, they aren't in a Texas boardroom
@jjhorgan
they are British Columbians!
The interests of British Columbians — and all Canadians — should come before those in Texas boardrooms. I will continue to fight to defend BC jobs, our economy and environment – now, and for future generations.

Well
@jjhorgan
called a snap election and despite a frantic day I kept a previous promise to some very special people. Promise made, promise kept tonight. PS: the book they chose to read was “I Survived” by Lauren Tarshis - LOL here’s hoping!
Every day there is someone else to blame according to
@jjhorgan
- the Feds, the Opposition, now newcomers to BC ?You may have deleted this tweet Premier but it is time to look in the mirror and acknowledge we have a doctor shortage and do something other than deflect!
Hmm “calling an election is selfish” during a pandemic says
@theJagmeetSingh
- I wonder what he said to
@jjhorgan
when he made a decision to call an election during a global pandemic? Apparently it was ok for the NDP in BC to do it?
The pandemic isn't over
Calling an election is selfish

Rapid testing is a tool making a real difference in keeping long-term care residents safe in other jurisdictions. It's also used here on film sets, in airports, and prisons. It’s time for
@jjhorgan
to adopt widespread rapid testing in BC to better protect our vulnerable seniors.
Many of you have been asking me if

British Columbia needs a leader who is bold and decisive. Today
@Wilkinson4BC
announced that we will eliminate the PST for a year and reduce it to 3% in the following year. Just what the doctor ordered for our province!
What a mess. Time to ask
@jjhorgan
some tough questions about the BC Recovery Benefit. He made a promise and now the roll out is a disaster. And the Finance Minister said everything would be ok - appears she didn’t know what she was talking about!
@richardzussman
@keithbaldrey
The BC Liberals and others called for broader use and wider distribution of rapid tests for more than a year before they were finally made available to the public. We appreciate that people now have access, but government is trying to rewrite history.
Really
@AJWVictoriaBC
- you may want to be a little careful on your soapbox - not sure your supporters find it credible that you have supported every single NDP bill - not once have you voted against them - despite telling British Columbians you would on several key Issues -
Wow, weren’t you just in BC supporting
@jjhorgan
and his team? So it’s ok for British Columbians to face an election while “COVID cases are rising and people are worried about their jobs, children & loved ones in long term care?” Why didn’t you call out
@jjhorgan
then?
COVID cases are rising
People are worried about their jobs, children & loved ones in long term care
