Our paper on volatile biosynthesis in cat thyme has been published in @ThePlantJournal. The @LichmanLab had an amazing collab with @TheBuellLab. @sefayten assembled a chromosome-scale genome that allowed us to discover how cat thyme makes diverse iridoids.

Cat thyme (Teucrium marum) produces the iridoid dolichodial which can repel certain insects and attract cats; the compound is also produced by some insect species. We generated a de novo chromosome...

We sequenced the genome of 🇯🇵 Japanese 🐱catnip🌿and found an unusual bipartite✌️ biosynthetic gene cluster🧬 for monoterpenoid production 🍃that arose via a chromosomal inversion+duplication🔄. This helped us find a previously missing reductase 🎉.
A chromosome-level genome assembly reveals that a bipartite gene cluster formed via an inverted duplication controls monoterpenoid biosynthesis in Japanese catnip #research #MolecularPlant

Here is "friends don't let friends forget to check data range at each factor level". The experiment measured 3 compounds across 2 groups (control vs. treatment). Without checking data range for each compound, you will miss that the treatment had a strong effect on compound 1.
