Buell Lab Undergrad Researcher Allie Gordon presented her work this semester at the @UGA_CollegeofAg Research Symposium today! Allie was a huge aide in optimizing nuclei isolations from various plant species/tissues for the end goal of inputting into single cell experiments

Excited to see this work on Peruvian Algarrobo (Neltuma pallida) that we collaborated on published in G3! https://t.co/GZWVFScIMR N. pallida is threatened in it's native area and we hope that this work will ultimately serve as a launch point for conservation efforts

Our paper on Chia has been published in @plantgenome! We assembled the genome of Chia pinta, assessed population structure, and also examined terpene synthase composition between Chia pinta and Chia negra.

Teaching @nanopore sequencing @CSHL this week for the Frontiers and Techniques in Plant Sciences Course! Students were super excited to get hands on with dummy flowcells provided by ONT to practice handling, priming and loading. Huge thanks to ONT for helping make this possible!

Our paper on volatile biosynthesis in cat thyme has been published in @ThePlantJournal. The @LichmanLab had an amazing collab with @TheBuellLab. @sefayten assembled a chromosome-scale genome that allowed us to discover how cat thyme makes diverse iridoids.
