It's entirely possible that big tariffs on American consumers won't hurt the economy much and will raise lots of revenue for the government. Also, if this proves true, it seems like pretty good evidence that higher taxes aren't incompatible with a great economy.
Another update to the graph of intense pain & suffering as tariff collections remain near record highs

Nice thread on the virtues of building community, beginning with one's neighbors. Centering our energy on person-to-person ties creates a strong antidote to blind partisanship and other "us versus them" feelings.
It takes longer but being part of your neighborhood community is the real deal. Church communities are often a shortcut to that, and end up being a genuine community too, but truly living among, relying upon, and serving those with whom you live in close proximity to is such….

prolly would want to be in a coffee bean, ride along with the tailwinds of caffeine addiction.
You're a gene that doesn't do anything and you want to propagate yourself as much as possible over the next 200 years. What kind of creature would you insert yourself into? And which trait do you want to be most associated with?. I think I'd choose sweetness in a small vegetable.

This Senate Banking package is a watershed moment in federal housing policy--chassis reform, Build More Housing Near Transit, Housing Supply Frameworks, & a brand new set of carrots & sticks based on housing production outcomes!. Full @NotebookLM-queryable text in next tweet.

Finally got a chance to read @smithtjosh's excellent testimony from this week. Prosperity is energy-intensive! I'm excited for us to get back to nuclear energy being safe, fast, and cheap to build.
Prosperity runs on power. But we’ve been throttling the supply. @smithtjosh testifies shortly on how to restart the engine. Read his full written testimony here:
