reminder that the product features we love the most from big companies often had to be fought for, because they were either cross-functional or replaced antiquated thinking in ways that were initially resisted. these are the unsung heroes in product.
I am the reason your phone can autofill 2FA codes from your messages and emails. Messages, the intelligence teams, and SEAR collectively hated the idea, shooting it down unanimously. I fought for 2 years until getting the green light.

the portability of memory is one of the areas of innovation I find most interesting (and it’s in the interest of users to NOT have our memory live ONLY within one LLM/AI company).
Who will own our digital memory?. As AI platforms ask us to entrust our memories to them, we risk endless reintroductions to every AI or (worse) seeing our digital selves held hostage by a single AI overlord. 1st in a 2-part blog series up now on building an open architecture

not surprising, but underscores just how antiquated mainstream medicine remains. how do we accelerate (mandate?) adoption of AI in the medical community? will the data keepers like Epic obstruct progress (guised as compliance)? . humanity needs collectively intelligent medicine.
"Benchmarked against real-world case records published each week in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), we show that the Microsoft AI Diagnostic Orchestrator (MAI-DxO) correctly diagnoses up to 85% of NEJM case proceedings, a rate more than four times higher than a group

fascinating use case of AI to "reveal the gap between what people say and what they truly mean". by detecting decision confidence, hedging language, unspoken concerns, and even the subtle power dynamics in a room. like "EQ as a service?".
Hi there. I’m your new superpower. 👋. It’s time to stop guessing what people think. It’s time to trade in your blind spots for true self-awareness. It’s time to decode reality, once and for all. Your conversations will never be the same.

we’re going from “trust, but verify” to “verify, then trust.” . expect “safety layer” AI-driven capabilities to be at the operating system level within a year or so, where malicious links, scam texts, and calls with generated voices get surfaced as risky to the user in real-time.
Introducing the Deep Face Mini App pilot: on the spot confirmation that the person you're speaking with is a real human, and not a deepfake. Built on World's privacy preserving technology.

I do appreciate examples of product-led growth that capitalize on the fact that people talk about the things they DIDN’T expect. As if driverless cars aren’t impressive enough / still a talking point….
Tesla Robotaxi has an Easter egg — it asks for a tip after the ride. When you tap it, the screen says “Just kidding.” 😂 . No driver, No tips.
