Today out in @biorxivpreprint we present SCOPE. An optics-free, self-registering array of DNA encoded beads for spatial genomics. This was work led by the intrepid duo of Hanna Liao and Sanjay Kottapalli, with @JShendure's lab.

Wow, @nature has retracted the 2020 Poore et al. cancer microbiome paper that we showed ( https://t.co/hBvfGCvyGR) was deeply flawed. The retraction date is tomorrow so I can't yet read the official notice, but I'll update when I can @RetractionWatch @ProfBootyPhD

This encouraged us to develop a new plate assay that can simulate drought at the transcriptome level in roots, and we demonstrate its effectiveness by assessing growth in a panel of Arabidopsis accessions (3/3).

In this manuscript, we compare different osmotic stress assays using RNA-seq. Surprisingly, across treatments we found wide variability in gene expression profiles in the Arabidopsis root, an unexpected result since profiles were largely consistent across shoots (2/3).
