I was delighted to support @BelfastBands with an event to launch their Suicide Safer Policy earlier this week. The event marked the first Safer Suicide Policy signed with Papyrus in Belfast and within the band fraternity. The Belfast Bands Forum is a shining example of how a

Today, I have formally submitted a legal call-in of Belfast City Council’s decision to fly the Palestinian flag over City Hall on behalf of the 3 Unionist parties. This decision was wrong, divisive, and entirely inappropriate for our city’s main civic building. Belfast City Hall

Convicted terrorist and Sinn Fein MLA Pat Sheehan has the absolute gall to talk about what he thinks Christians should believe in the Assembly right now. A man who believes the IRA terrorism and murder was justified pontificating on morality? Laughable if it wasn't disgusting.

Remembrance is such a poignant occasion for me, as I am sure it is for many others. Whilst the poppy represents all those fallen in conflicts since WW1, it is particularly associated with that conflict and WW2. It genuinely moves me knowing that young men my age made the

Privileged to attend the Remembrance Evening at the Spectrum Centre last night. It was a wonderful evening of entertainment and reflection ending with a service of remembrance and poppy drop. The evening included a very moving flute solo from the incredibly talented Joshua

My ability to ask vital questions at the Education Committee to witnesses about pressing issues in our schools was hindered, because the Committee spent 20 minutes talking about isssues in the Middle East.

Sinn Féin: “You can’t oppose another culture.” Then calls Marching Bands funding a “vanity project” while spending £1.9m on a draft Irish Language Policy, while crying poverty. Maybe the Council should reassess its priorities!

That’s because they had adverse community impact, just like the decision you took to fly the Palestinian flag on City Hall will have. We would have been agreeing minutes that were already agreed at committee, there would have been no reason to call those decisions in.

And you know as well as I do Tara that the meeting would have remained quorate and the City Solicitor, and Chief Executive confirmed the meeting could continue, so what terms could it be called in on?
Sarah you know as well as I do that if the meeting had continued without the other parties the likely impact would have been every decision that had been made would have been called in, rendering the continuation of the meeting a pointless waste of time.

Oh dear, if you’re going to do a wee video slating other parties Michael let’s get the facts right. 1. DUP did not “shut down debate”. As per the standing orders, which your party is usually very fond of following, the Lord Mayor stopped the discussion because it wasn’t
