Since many of you supported my intentions to write a thank-you letter to the emergency room doctor who diagnosed my ovarian cancer, I decided to share what I sent to her. (Grab a coffee, it’s a long read). In an age of anger, why not choose gratitude? #fuckcancer #yyj 1/12

I kept a list of "those moments" from clerkship and recently revisited them to start my application for CaRMS. Leaving this here for current and future clerks for the days when keeping things afloat is the only (necessary) accomplishment. #MedTwitter

One of the coolest stories you will see this week: Prescriptive housing from the University Health Network. The Hospital network is building 51 modular housing units that can be prescribed to homeless individuals who are highly dependent on emergency rooms. (Thread) #ONpoli

Poverty is a policy choice. Accepting poverty & inequity is a choice. Believing people deserve poverty is a cruel #bias that protects us from feeling discomfort w/ harm we cause. These status affirming beliefs sustain harm, illness & the status quo. @DrAhmednurAli #Truth

Many beginning #qualitative researchers are overly concerned that they are doing analysis "wrong". Here are some activities that can help people to think qualitatively & practice analysis in playful ways. These and other techniques will be expanded in my 3rd edition qual book.

Women’s pain is consistently ignored, downplayed, denied, treated with sedatives instead of pain medication, across the board in medicine. Suffering is considered part and parcel of the female experience.

Wondering if this was true so I asked my husband what he got prescribed when he had his wisdom teeth taken out and he said Percocet. I was told to take 800 mg as needed. Same dentist and mine was impacted. Damn.
