one of the great tragedies of anime fan loanwording is the perception that "doujin" means porn. consider if a bunch of big fans of homemade porn decided the word "indie" inherently meant pornographic across all media; it's kinda like that
i understand loanwords do happen and will evolve to its own thing (hentai for example) but doujin having this pornographic meaning will seriously contribute to so much misunderstandings and misinformation
so let me be a bit of a prescriptivist just this once…
