After Premier Danielle Smith couldn't provide an answer on what temporary immigrants cost Alberta's bottom line, I was expecting Finance Minister Nate Horner would have some numbers today, given how thoroughly he says they worked to find savings. He said he didn't have a number

There's key threats to Canadian's health and there's the notion of human decency. This Conservative MAGA idea to limit healthcare to newcomers is so far off the mark. It's xenophobic, crass and policy distraction. It's a move by someone failing in polls.👇👇👇...See below Leader

People fleeing violence, war, and persecution deserve to be treated with compassion, not cruelty. This week’s Conservative proposal to deny health care to some of the world’s most vulnerable is offensive in the extreme.

Bishop Barron has immigrants in his diocese and state in fear and hiding, struggling to pay rent because of the terror ICE has brought on our community. Maybe instead of funding a ministry that plays with the rich and famous, consider donating at

I once remember someone dangerously claiming “kids are practically immune” to COVID. Long COVID is real, even for infants exposed to COVID in-utero. ➡️All the people to told pregnant moms to ignore COVID / don’t vaccinate if pregnant should be ashamed & held accountable.

Children with in-utero COVID-19 exposure showed altered brain structures at birth and lower cognitive/social scores by age two, with 52% high-risk for developmental delays. This study links these brain changes to anxiety-like behaviors.🧵

56% of Republicans support Christian Nationalism. 73% of them believe Trump should have dictator-level powers, including, in some cases, political violence. That’s not patriotism. That's religious radicalization. https://t.co/Qenqmk6txx

"Ms. Smith has chosen a different path. She’s decided to blame immigrants for the province’s financial woes and wants to make their lives just a little bit harder if she can. This is a choice – and an obscenely cruel and perfidious one, at that." 🎯 #ABPoli

As an experienced Toronto ER doctor it's my observation that temporary foreign workers and asylum seekers have not been part of the most grave problem facing our hospitals. They are not the cause of hospital overcrowding which leads to ER overcrowding.

Your choice, Albertans: You can believe Premier Danielle Smith or the Data "In 1992, Alberta had approximately 11,700 hospital beds. Today, with nearly double the population and a much older demographic, we have roughly 8,800. This is not an Ottawa or immigration problem."

Dear Fellow Albertans, This letter is written not as a partisan, but as an emergency physician who has cared for more than 100,000 Albertans, a former MLA, and someone who has devoted a working life to this province. Across Alberta, the strain is obvious. Housing is scarce.

Absolutely horrifying and dangerous rhetoric. Immigrants did not waste billions of taxpayer dollars on war rooms, fake Tylenol, coal mine settlements, Dynalife, AIMco, & everything else. Immigrants are my parents, my friends, my neighbours, my international grad students…

When you insist on seeing God in the face of the emperor, no matter how corrupt they are, and refuse to see God in the face of the immigrant being arrested after being falsely accused of being a criminal, you have yet to understand the gospel of Jesus.
