Just spent some time at Charlton Elementary School saying hello to all the students enjoying the extended school year services! I am even more excited for the start of the new school year. Just seeing all those smiling faces....

Good teaching is not accidental. It results from teachers who plan well and who connect with their students. Both of these are intentional. Good teaching takes energy, passion, and perseverance. It is hard work. I’m grateful for all the teachers who are putting in the work.

Teachers are more motivated when their administration supports them, values them, and encourages them. Guess when students are more motivated.

We had a teacher leave TESTING today because of a family emergency. Our faculty stepped up... because that’s what they do. But I was reminded of priorities. I’m glad our staff is passionate about their work... but I hope they always know I expect them to value their family more.
